Solar Apocalypse
SOLAR APOCALYPSE!
The worlds rotation is slowing, We must move underground to Survive!
Solar Apocalypse is a survival game, to make mine craft even harder! The mod destroys all plant and animal life on the surface over a span of 4 days. Players are forced to move underground and try to survive as long as they can.
Mod Features
Natural looking Destruction and Regrowth
- World Changes to a fiery or frozen wasteland.
- All exposed plant life dies off.
- Biomes Change to desert during the day and tundra at night.
- The world can be slowly restored with the regrow system a few blocks at a time.
Day GamePlay Mechanics
- Lava balls fall from the sky
- Anything exposed to Sun Light will burst into flames.
- Colored glass can protect from the suns death rays.
Night GamePlay Mechanics
- Players and Animals take cold damage when away from heat sources (lights) even under ground!
- Full Leather armor can keep players warm underground, but not outside.
- Players can see there breath when they are getting too far from the light.
- Snow Piles up to form huge drifts.
- Super lighting storms strike without warning.
Time Control
- The time length of Day, Night and Dusk/Dawn can be independently increased, decreased or skipped entirely.
- Players can right click a clock for info about whats going on and how much time is left.
Mulit-World Support
- You can destroy as many worlds as you like in many different ways.
- Destruction pauses if no players are in the world
Fully Customizable World Config
- Each world can have its own config separate config file.
- Plugin config file.
- The World's Config File can be modified for new types of gameplay.
- Share your Config files on the forums!
Basic Commands
- /apocadmin -plugins help
- /apocadmin [worldName] Start - Starts Solar Apocalypse on [worldName]
- /apocadmin [worldName] Stop - Stops Solar Apocalypse

How To Install and run
- Download the plugin
- Place the .jar file in your plugins directory.
- Run the server.
- To start a game type "/ApocAdmin world start" where world is the name of the world you want to destroy!
- Enjoy the game!
- type "/ApocAdmin world stop" to stop.

Also too me and my friends were playing it yesterday and I kept getting errors on the console, I'm not sure why because everything seemed to be working fine, but here are the errors I was getting.
The first error I got, seemed to only happen if I tried to run the "apocadmin start" command from the console while any players were on the server. (I never tried it as a player command, just console)
And the second error seemed to sort of randomly come up every so often, I'm unsure of the cause but it seems there were multiple variations of the error, the variations were the following.
I'm also not sure if it's solely this plugin causing the errors or any of my other plugins. This is a list of all the plugins I'm currently using.

Posted Nov 6, 2012I tried to put this on my bukkit server but it doesn't work. when i type apoc start it says type apoc help. when i type apocadmin start it says it's running but when I look at the speed its running it says running at 0m and it will be day one. What am I doing wrong?

Alright, thanks for the info, and I just want to say I'm really enjoying the mod and looking forward to where it goes, me and my friends have a really fun time playing with it.
Can't wait for that "Endless" mode you mentioned, currently I'm just setting "maxDeaths" to 10 million... lol
Also too I wanted to mention something that sort of is part of my second question and third, the reason I would want to be able to "start it from say, Day 10" is because of the mod resetting on server restart, so if you would be able to have it save the current day in the mod config or something so that when the server restarted it would remember the current day, that would be awesome, not sure how hard it would be but it would be greatly appreciated.

@SherlockHomie Yes works with 1.4, I even added some of the new blocks like carrots and potatoes.
@ValBGaming
1) to use a copy of the world your in type "/apocadmin worldlist world" assuming your world is named world
2) you can tweak the config file move all the effects you want to day 0 or 1;
3) I'll see what i can come up with.
4) The idea was to make apoc games where you try to survive as long as you can. Then the game resets so you can try again. I'm working on more options for game types, timers, team lives,endless etc,
5) currently the block is replaced by fire this is a bug, the next version will place fire above the block.

Posted Nov 5, 2012I am currently trying to upgrade my Solar Apocalypse world that me and my friends have been playing on to Beta 2.0, and am having a lot of trouble with it. So I have a few questions about Beta 2.0...
1) Every time I start the Apocalypse, it creates a new world, is there any way to simply use a world that already exists?
2) The current Solar Apocalypse world we're playing on has already been run for a long time, so is there any way to start the Apocalypse at say, Day 10?
3) My server isn't always online, it's only online when me and my friends play on it, I've noticed every time I restart the server the Solar Apocalypse seems to reset, is there any way to simply have it continue from where it left off when the server shutdown?
4) I noticed in the new configuration file there is a setting called "maxDeaths", I assume this is like a "lives" system? What happens when a player runs out of lives, and is there any way to disable this feature?
5) Last question... When in the configuration file it says for example "- Day <> 5:all -> 51:0", does this mean it will change the block into fire or simply set the block on fire? (Because I have an idea about making TNT placed outside during the day get set off by the sunlight)

it gets faster as the days progress, by day 10 its changes a chunk every sec (16x16 block squares)
How much time do you want between normal world and burning wasteland ?

Posted Oct 26, 2012I Uploaded Beta 2.0 and updated all the pages. Next update will be for 1.4 compatible bukkit.
If you want to scare the crap out of your users:
/apocadmin worldlist <world name you all play in>
/apocadmin autojoin on;
/apocadmin start;
Then watch as there houses burn down there gardens dry up and friends spontaneous combust.
And don't tell them this is a copy :P

The weather should be snowing all night and stop during the day. are you in night mode? it may stop for at sun rise/sun set.
Im getting rid of the doom clock but /apoc command will give you countdowns.

Posted Oct 18, 2012Few things: 1.) The weather is constantly blizzard/rain. It never stops, it stops for 20 seconds then goes back up again every like 20-40 minutes. How do I make it so the whole day thing happens? 2.) The doom clock ticker is spamming my chat very much how do I make it so it does this in moderation instead of the spam? Thank you! Otherwise I love this plugin!

Is the parallel world going to be able to be turned off? I already have a great set-up for resetting the map automatically and would love to keep the current system I have. I am planning on opening up a new kind of server with this plugin, one I have never seen before. I think people will love it, and I am looking forward to the next update. :D
