What is spectate?

Spectate allows you to watch players from their point of view, simply by typing in /spectate (player). You will see exactly what they see, and they'll never know you were watching them.

You can also watch them from different angles. There's Third Person, Third Person Front (looking at their face), and Freeroam (you can walk freely around and watch them from any angle).

There's also "Scroll" mode and "Scan" mode. Scroll mode allows you to right and left click to change between players, and Scan mode will change the player you're spectating every few seconds (you can set how long until it switches to the next person).

There's also an API, which allows developers to take control of the entire plugin.

Looks like another plugin is interfering, do you have AdminCmd installed?

@Jackalmen I just updated to 1.4.6 R0.3 (from R0.1, which did work). Now this pops up and server laggs like hell, and even can crash sometimes.. :(

Work on 1.4.6?

At my server config commands not work, (/spectate mode 2) says "Player is not online"

Unfortunately, you cant see (spectate) newest effects, like invisibility... but just old ones, like haste.

Thanks dude :) , no worries if it doesn't, I'll happily wait for an update. I can still keep track of players through the server log, but been able to watch what players are doing make monitoring untrustworthy players a lot easier, and it's quite a nice feature to have :P

I spectated someone who was laying in a bed and was taking damage. People in the room were asking who was getting hurt. The bed had a wall at the head of it.

@Kobra, have each of you admins vanish, and don't give the vanish.see permission to yourselves. perhaps create a lower than admin rank with this permission setup.

@Chipmunk9998, any chance you could hook into the DisguiseCraft api, to change the player skin to the spectated player? I'd like to spectatescan in 3rd person view, and record that to my youtube channel.

There is a small kind issue, So when you & other person want to spectate a person, the problem is here is that i can see the other of my admins body parts which block's whole screen of view. Is there a possible way of fixing this?

why not add a feature : use command to take a screenshot and auto upload the screen shot to the server? (this is the best way to catch cheater)
