Development builds of this project can be acquired at the provided continuous integration server. These builds have not been approved by the BukkitDev staff. Use them at your own risk.


The SparkTrail plugin aims to utilise the range of particle effects Craftbukkit has to offer. Fire, ender, smoke and even love hearts are only a small portion of the particle effects this plugin utilises. With over 20 unique effects, there's guaranteed to be one that 'tickles your fancy'!
The integration of Player, Location and Entity particle effects, along with a long list of Sound effects comes packaged inside the SparkTrail plugin. We also integrate the plugin's features with newer Minecraft additions, including complete Command Block support for modifying Trail effects.



SparkTrail comes with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files. If you do not wish for SparkTrail to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the SparkTrail directory of your plugins folder and change "checkForUpdates" and "autoUpdate" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.


Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

It's still hard-coded into the plugin as a configurable option, I just think I accentually removed it at some stage. It's under "effects.firework.interval" if you want to add it in. And block break should already be in the default config. I just checked that (under "effects.block.interval").

Posted May 13, 2013I noticed that after the 1.4.7 there is no longer a way to change the int of a firework or block. How long it takes for the effect to spawn. Is there anyway you can get this back? Or a special code to put in the config?

Interesting how you have an effects plugin yourself, and you ask for the source code of a larger plugin. Not suspicious at all huh? I most likely will not make the source public unless I am handing over the project.

Just give certain permissions. Then players won't be able to use certain commands. There's a lovely huge page right here for all your permissions needs :P

Oh i ment like being able to allow players to use potion effects with out the sounds.. and being able to limit what effect commands you offer to players.. Like i only want High end donators to use your Spark command for Swirl, rainbows, smoke, ender, fire etc.. I dont see where i can only give out those commands to players.. I dont want them to use other features in this plugin.. hrumm

When will all this be Updated@! Omg I am excited your one of my top Devs and i use both your plugins on our server, I understand due to complications and 1.6 around the bin, i am holding off res installing it! But plz plz let use know when Spark trail and Echopets is rdy for 1.5.2 plus with out any problems in console?!
I will always do my best to help out anyway, and if i can spare some cash this month .. donations should be in order!
P.s I only want my donators to be able to use Sparkeffects and nothing else.. will you be adding in custom commands for stuff like that.. also No sound files added the the effects ,swirl,Fire,rainbow ,smoke,etc can cause lagg, is there going to be a way to remove the sound file for Potions effects ? thanks for the Info bud please get back on this matter , thanks mate!

The Sparkle efffect is a litlle bit weird for now, but it will be fixed in future updates. It's only client-side that the wool changes colour ;)

Posted May 5, 2013Strange bug? The sparkle effect changes the colour of wool to white wool. I tested it on red, blue and black wool and it changes it to white wool for a couple of seconds but then it changes back!
