SolarRestoneTorch
SolarRedstoneTorch
Super simple, very powerful - light sensitive redstone torches.
This project is no longer being supported.
Current Version: v1.2.2 (1.3.1-R2.0)

Description:
After being displeased with how complex, heavy or non-functional all of the other light sensitive redstone related plugins were working, I decided to create SolarRedstoneTorch (SRT). This super simple, easy to configure and extremely lightweight plugin does one thing and one thing only. It allows you to configure redstone torches to be light sensitive!
How It Works:
SRT works by tracking user configured redstone torch light levels, and forces them on if the light level on the torch is at or below the current sensitivity, or off if the light level on the block is above the sensitivity level.
Why would I want this plugin? What good is it?
Well, for one its super lightweight, and easy to use! No commands, no special tools - just right click!
What Can I Do With SRT?
Maybe you want to play special music when the sun rises with note blocks?
Maybe you need your drawbridge to rise when night rolls around so your town is safe from mob attack.
Who knows! There are all sorts of possibilities!
How Do I Use It?
Step 1: Place a new, or find an existing, redstone torch.
Step 2: Right click on the torch.
Step 3: That's It!
That's it?! Really?
It sure is, that's all you have to do! By default when you mark a torch to be light sensitive it's sensitivy level is set to 7, so when night time rolls around, the torch will turn on!
If you want to configure the light sensitivity to be different, all you have to do is keep right clicking on the torch! The sensitivity will cycle through all the valid levels.
Can I protect my light sensitive redstone torches?
You sure can! you can use, GroupManager, Permissions 2.5, Lists 0.2.0 or Bukkit's build in permissions to configure access levels to the plugin.
Features:
Per redstone torch configurable light sensitivity levels
Permission based access to functionality
What permissions are available?
There 4 permissions available for SRT:
solarredstonetorch.* - This gives full access to SRT solarredstonetorch.add - This allows players to make redstone torches light sensitive. solarredstonetorch.edit - This allows players to change the sensitivity level of existing light sensitive torches. solarredstonetorch.delete - This allows players to remove torches that have been configured to be light sensitive.

Posted Feb 2, 2013I want to let everybody know, that I am officially discontinuing support for all of my plugins. The time required to maintain them and improve them to the level that they should be just isn't available to me, and hasn't been for a while. Rather than keep trying to barely support them, i'm going to just cut the ties so that I can focus that energy elsewhere.
If somebody wants to swoop in and take over on the project, that's fine with me, just send me a PM here and i'll get you set up to take over.

Posted Sep 3, 2012This plugin works great, even with the recent 1.3.1 update. However, upon reboot or over time, the torches break. It gets quite annoying when you have to reset all torches every time something crashes the server.

Posted Jun 14, 2012I love the plugin, but it seems to not honor WG permissions *and* changing a torch isn't registered in LogBlock. That's a tough combination, since it makes subtle griefing very hard to detect on a SMP server.
Are there any plans to release a version that either uses WorldGuard perms or logs torch changes to LogBlock?

Posted Jun 11, 2012It has a pretty severe bug- The config file (Torches.dat) wipes itself after some days running the server. This means that every redstonetorch set to be lightsensitive, is being reset to a normal redstonetorch.
Very annoying, I hope this can be fixed!

Posted Jun 6, 2012I found some kind of bug. It stops responding after some time, You have to replace it after that or else it just stays on

Posted Apr 18, 2012Just a little suggestion :
On our server we use another plugin for "wifi-like" redstone torch, and use right click action on torch, so I've modified to player.isSneaking() + right click for make much compatibility.
Maybe you can prevent on your releases :p

Posted Apr 18, 2012I should be around enough to keep this thing up and running. I'll be sure to test it with each version as they release builds.
As long as they don't change anything else wacky in the API then SRT shouldn't break. It touches very little of the API.

Thanks for stepping in and helping out! I really appreciate it.
I finally had some time tonight to update, so I've uploaded version 1.2.1 which supports the latest build of bukkit now.

Hope he does, I've been looking for something that allows me to lift big platforms of pistons at same time, but everything seems outdated >.<

Posted Jan 17, 2012Sounds really interesting! I'm eagerly waiting for it. I generally dont like plugins that produce something without taking something in return. This one looks really nice and anticheaty though ;) One could even make a custom Block with Spout that does the thing! Thanks for the hard work so far.

Posted Jan 13, 2012Sounds like this is going to be fairly well put together. I'll be excited to finally have something like this that is light weight. ^-^
