How do I use it ?
Don't want to watch the awesome video ? Fine, here are the basic commands.
/mv create skylands normal -g SkylandsPlus
Or a skylands style Nether like this
/mv create skylands nether -g SkylandsPlus
Or a skylands style End like this
/mv create skylands the_end -g SkylandsPlus
Other world management plugins should have similar commands, I use Multiverse on my server which is why I only provide the instructions for that. The documentation for which ever plugin you use should tell you how to do it. You can also add a world by editing the bukkit.yml file, instructions on how to do that can be found on the Bukkit wiki.
Config
prevent-sand-falling: true restrict-mob-spawning: true
prevent-sand-falling - When set to true no sand will fall in skylands worlds.
restrict-mob-spawning - When set to true the number of mobs in a single chunk will be limited to a sane amount in skylands worlds.
Contributing
Contributions to the project are very much welcome, if you have a feature that you want implemented and know a nice way to do it then consider forking the repo and submitting a pull request. These will be accepted as long as the following simple guidelines are followed.
- Do not edit the structure of the pom.xml file, feel free to add a dependency if you need it but the formatting and structure should not be changed.
- If you are exposing a new API method, add a JavaDoc comment to it, but don't over-comment internal code.
- Follow the existing code style, don't antagonise over every space though !
All dependencies that are used are now available from a public Maven repo, so you don't have to worry about building several other projects just to add a simple change any more.

You can use the offset parameter to place the world above the black sky. It's not possible to fix this on a other way.

Ok! I use the 1.5.2 build What amazes me is not to find the abandoned mines, with the help of dynmap. If I had not realized that it was 16 + 2. I'll do more testing.

What build do you use? I tested your params with my latest 1.6 Build. Offset works perfect. Deepest block i find in near from spawn is on height 18. (16 default height + 2 offset) Maybe try a other build. My changes should be included in latest official testbuilds.
The other params just enables the specified generators. But they are already rare in normal world because they generates only at certain places and have some requirements. Theoretical sould be possible that they are generated, but sadly very, very rare. Only thing i seen so far was ONE desert well. And this in a Desert-only world..
@Garfonzo
I think the only main change since 1.5.2 is that Desert-Hills are generated now with sand instead of grass. I'm so sorry, i forgot this in changelog on github.. :( It's just possible to get a hard terrain change within desert-hills. All other from my changes are optional and deactivated by default.

Posted Jul 8, 2013Just wondering if there are any known issues with moving from 1.5.2 to 1.6 (or 1.6.1 for that matter) with a Skylands Plus world already created and in use? I have a Skylands world created and being used on my server by player and would like to move to 1.6, but want to ensure I'll not have any issues with this world.
Thanks

Hi Hummtaro,
I tested the command : /mvc sky normal -g SkylandsPlus:offset=2,largefeature,village,mineshaft,bedrock,water=4 but all parameters don't work.
The parameters "bedrock" and "water" is OK but, the parameters offset is always 48, largefeature, village and mineshaft are missing...
Any idea?

Posted Jul 7, 2013Great world for donors. Works great with Towny, too. :D
Only suggestion would be to alter the world generator to create more waterfalls. Not a big deal, just something that would make it a little more interesting.

On this picture are grass and snow.. Really just only one biome? If you want only one biome. you can use only=PLAINS or something in my custom skylandsplus build.

This plugin actually started off as an addition to that to make the world more interesting, so it will probably never be reverted back.

In the 1.7.3 original skylands, there was just one biome with limited size and only a small amount of plants/animals/ores. http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Sky_Dimension

Yep, thats how pull requests work. Sure you can get my source through GitHub but then you have to compile it self.
Wait a moment. I will attach a compiled version for 1.6 to this post.
I don't tested this build. server starts and generates map without any errors, but i don't have minecraft 1.6 yet.. :)

Posted Jul 3, 2013Also Hummtaro, I couldn't get you version to work on 1.6. Is where a way you could possibly update it to 1.6?
I really hope these features get added into the skylandsplus soon :)
How do the pull request work? I looked it up and found out what it means “pull requests”: requests from people who have cloned your project, made a modification to it and then asking you to merge their changes back into the main project.
Is there a way I can access Hummtaro's version through GitHub?
Sorry for all the questions, im just really excited about more features coming to this plugin.
