Simple Backup
Simple backup
Works with 1.10.x and up
If you have any problems with the plugin not working leave a comment!
What can I use this for?
Simple Backup is a plugin to zip up your minecraft server worlds to a folder so you can:
- Let your users download them via file sharing websites such as mediafire
- Roll back your map
Commands:
- /sbackup - Force a backup of your world by running. Can only be ran by OPs or from the server console.
Providing error reports:
When pasting large amounts of text please use http:pastebin.com or http:dev.bukkit.org/paste/. They are completely free and makes it easier for me to read any error messages you provide.
Also provide your SimpleBackup config file and the version of the plugin you are using, when stating you have a problem, so I can see if that's the problem instead.
Configuring:
Click here for an explanation of how to configure this plugin.
Rolling Back Maps:
Click here for how to roll back your maps.
Updates:
This plugin is generally updated when a significant change (new features or bugfixes) has been made to it. The plugin uses only a small number of very basic Bukkit API calls, so it most probably won't break on Bukkit updates. If it does break, we'll update it as soon as possible.
Want to help me out?
You can donate to Simple Backup if you love the plugin to bits and want to show me some support by clicking the donate button in the top right! Don't want to or can't donate?, then just leave a comment showing me support instead.
Thanks for any support you give me, and enjoy simple backup!

Posted Jan 29, 2014If I happen to be initiating a command while the Simple Backup starts its backup it ends up kicking me from the game. Then I actually have to completely quit minecraft and restart the launcher to get back in the game.
I am using 1.7.2 and spigot

The plugin creates a folder in 'plugins' upon startup. So just start the server with the jar in the plugins folder and you should have a folder named 'SimpleBackup' which contains the configuration files.

Posted Jan 9, 2014Looks promising, but I can not really test or implement it. I am new to Minecraft server and Bukkit plugins.
Which file contains the configuration? I cannot seem to find this being mentioned anywhere on the page. I tried to put it into the configuration.yml, but this file gets overwritten with default settings after each backup.
Thanks!

Posted Dec 9, 2013With linux zip command, you can add exclusions. Could you add that into this plugin? I'd like to backup plugins folder but exclude *.jar (all jars) and dynmap/* (dynmap directory). Thanks :)

To stop automatic backups, please, set backup-intreval to 0.

Sorry for the delay and thank you for the detailed information.
It seems that TagCraftMC_Peace, TagCraftMC_PVP, TagCraftMC_Spawn, TagCraftMC_VIPShops are worlds. You don't need to list them explicitly in the backup-folders tag. Please, remove them and try to run backup to see what happens. The plugin should backup the worlds before the listed folders. Leave backup-folders as:

Posted Nov 18, 2013Hello, your plugin is nice, but when people read bukkit's version, he was afraid :p
Perhaps just make a new version tag 1.6.4 or 1.7.2 ?
All working good, but new user are reassured.

It seems it tries to backup the TagCraftMC_Peace folder twice. Can you, please, post your config file, the complete log (from 'backup starting' to 'backup complete'), and whatever was logged at server startup/reload (tagged with '[SimpleBackup]'). This will help us diagnose the problem and probably offer solutions.
