Simple Prefix: Allows you to easily manage your chat with prefixes and suffixes.
This plugin uses prefixes and suffixes that are very easy to configure, from inside of an yml config file. You apply prefixes and suffixes per user or group in the /SimplePrefix/config.yml file.
Alternatively, Simple Prefix can be configured to get the prefixes and suffixes from Vault supported chat plugins instead (PermissionsEx, bPermissions, etc.)
You can fully alter the chat format. For example, you could achieve the following ingame:
- [Admin] Flabaliki: my message here
Or even, just completely mix and match the template to get the look you want.
A developer API is available to those who wish to access prefixes and suffixes and use them within their own plugin. Click "Metadata" above.
That's basically what this is, just a lightweight plugin for quickly getting your prefixes and suffixes to work, however you want.
Read the Configuration page for instructions on how to use the plugin.
Features:
- Uses permissions to apply prefixes and suffixes to selected users or groups.
- Alternatively, can use prefixes and suffixes from plugins supported by Vault.
- Formatting/color codes are fully supported.
- Configure the chat format to display however you want.
- Developer API for fetching prefixes and suffixes.
- Easy to use commands for adding / removing prefixes in game.
- Set prefixes and suffixes per group or per user.
- Plays nicely with Essentials /nick command.
- Option to allow multiple prefixes / suffixes, and a configurable separator which is placed between them to separate them.
- A prefix or suffix tier system (so that you can make multiple ranking ladders).
- UUID support
- Offline mode server support (using usernames instead of UUIDs)
- Factions chat tags support (read our Configuration page)
Installation:
- Place Simple Prefix.jar into your plugins folder
- Restart or reload your server
- Edit your config.yml (see here for info)
Please carefully read the Configuration page!

You can use them the same way you used them in this comment; I'm assuming by copying and pasting. SimplePrefix supports those Unicode characters.

It beats me why you'd even try that; by definition, the suffix is the part that comes at the end. But I'll try to help you (if you're still having this problem). You have set the format option in the config to be the way you want, right? You may want to post the latest version of your permissions file and Simple Prefix config, that'll make this easier.

Posted Aug 13, 2015My previous issue was fixed, but now I seem to have an issue of the suffix not being displayed properly before the username. I've tried using bungeecord and Vault settings as well as without them and it either displays [prefix] [name] [suffix] or [prefix] [suffix] [prefix] [name] [suffix]. I'm trying to get [suffix] [prefix] [name].

"SimplePrefix may or may not work in offline mode. No support will be offered to offline mode servers."
That being said, I am working on an update that can fix your problem.

Yes you need it on all servers. The bungeecord option in the Simple Prefix config is about how it handles player IPs.

Posted Jul 14, 2015Do I need to install the plugin from both HUB and another server to be able to work?
What's the use of bungee tho?
What happened was.
I have simple prefix in hub and its working then I teleport to another server Without Simple prefix now it's not working anymore. Is that normal?
Should I need simple prefix from each servers?
thanks
EDIT: I'm running spigot 1.8.7 and latest bungeecord. All bungeecord is enabled.

UUID support was added in version 2.3, so if you want to use the plugin with usernames instead of UUIDs, you'll need to use version 2.2.1. Some of the features you've seen in Simple Prefix may not be available in that older version, though.

Posted Jul 4, 2015In which version did you implement UUID thing ? we are playing on an older version of mc and every time when someone who owns mc logs in and we add a prefix it breaks the plugin and adds a 'null' user to the config file, so we all have to use offline mode for it to not break or it is possible to dissable the uuid thing and use the ingame name instead ? Thanks
