Simple Prefix: Allows you to easily manage your chat with prefixes and suffixes.
This plugin uses prefixes and suffixes that are very easy to configure, from inside of an yml config file. You apply prefixes and suffixes per user or group in the /SimplePrefix/config.yml file.
Alternatively, Simple Prefix can be configured to get the prefixes and suffixes from Vault supported chat plugins instead (PermissionsEx, bPermissions, etc.)
You can fully alter the chat format. For example, you could achieve the following ingame:
- [Admin] Flabaliki: my message here
Or even, just completely mix and match the template to get the look you want.
A developer API is available to those who wish to access prefixes and suffixes and use them within their own plugin. Click "Metadata" above.
That's basically what this is, just a lightweight plugin for quickly getting your prefixes and suffixes to work, however you want.
Read the Configuration page for instructions on how to use the plugin.
Features:
- Uses permissions to apply prefixes and suffixes to selected users or groups.
- Alternatively, can use prefixes and suffixes from plugins supported by Vault.
- Formatting/color codes are fully supported.
- Configure the chat format to display however you want.
- Developer API for fetching prefixes and suffixes.
- Easy to use commands for adding / removing prefixes in game.
- Set prefixes and suffixes per group or per user.
- Plays nicely with Essentials /nick command.
- Option to allow multiple prefixes / suffixes, and a configurable separator which is placed between them to separate them.
- A prefix or suffix tier system (so that you can make multiple ranking ladders).
- UUID support
- Offline mode server support (using usernames instead of UUIDs)
- Factions chat tags support (read our Configuration page)
Installation:
- Place Simple Prefix.jar into your plugins folder
- Restart or reload your server
- Edit your config.yml (see here for info)
Please carefully read the Configuration page!

They no longer support there chat manager plugin, you'll need to find a new one. http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/permissionsex/files/24-permissions-ex-v1-20-4/

Posted Sep 4, 2013Someone help, everytime i create a group for example, admin with the prefix [Admin] and i put simpleprefix.admin: true in the admins permissions, the prefix is still the one i created for new players who joined which is [Default]. All players in any group always have the [Default] prefix except for me.

You need to give the player groups the correct permission for the prefix.
So for your Moderator group in your permissions file, you need to give it the SimplePrefix.mod permission.

I use PermissionsBukkit and it works fine for me.
Also, have you tried making a group for Zera and Esmer so it inherits perms from the group that gets the ranks? Like:
groups:
__owners:
____permissions:
______-op.permission true
____inheritance:
______-rankedgroup
But that's using PermissionsBukkit.
Edit: Spaces screw up the format. Every "_" is a space.

I once tried to use this with bperms, it simply did not work. bperms uses it's own prefix system and doesn't seem to be compatible with this plugin. Try another permissions plugin if you want to use simple prefix. But unless you are aiming to use multiple prefixes, I wouldn't bother and just bperms prefix function.

Posted Jul 15, 2013Can I get no help for my issue? I'm trying to be very patient here, but I feel like getting any help for this plugin now and in the past is rather pointless since it never seems to come....
Outside something going wrong with displaying Multi-prefixes, I have no other issues with this plugin. It's working fine other than this....

Posted Jul 11, 2013At first everything was OK, I could get prefixes to work just fine. However a little later, a few restarts after they just stopped showing up altogether. My user specific prefixes are showing up just fine, but the ones for my groups aren't.I've made sure I've given the right permissions for these groups so the prefixes would show, as it was working before... I don't know what's going on! Someone please help?At first it was a conflict between the Prefixes and the Suffixes, but I removed the Suffixes from the users and switched everthing to prefixes and still nothing. Only the user stuff is showing. Any spaces, or punctuation is fine too....Here's my config. http://pastebin.com/tPCY6BRvWow i feel retarded, don't mind me. I found the problem! XDOkay, still not working. Now I really don't get it! http://pastebin.com/Jv5SACfJ
EDIT: Okay so I realized i was missing a "permission" section title in my permissions plugin. I've added that in and now the prefixes are showing up for normal players. however if you take a look at that config there, you see Zera_Fox and Esmerillon are supposed to have their own specific prefixes, and "multiprefix" is turned on. So what's intended to happen is that Zera and Esmer get their special prefixes as well as any one of the group prefixes they are a part of. However, Zera and Esmer aren't getting any of them and I can't for the life of me figure out why. I know the groups have the right prefix permissions because its showing up for the players, Zera and Esmer are part of those groups that get those prefixes...
