Simple Prefix: Allows you to easily manage your chat with prefixes and suffixes.

This plugin uses prefixes and suffixes that are very easy to configure, from inside of an yml config file. You apply prefixes and suffixes per user or group in the /SimplePrefix/config.yml file.

Alternatively, Simple Prefix can be configured to get the prefixes and suffixes from Vault supported chat plugins instead (PermissionsEx, bPermissions, etc.)

You can fully alter the chat format. For example, you could achieve the following ingame:

[Admin] Flabaliki: my message here

Or even, just completely mix and match the template to get the look you want.

A developer API is available to those who wish to access prefixes and suffixes and use them within their own plugin. Click "Metadata" above.

That's basically what this is, just a lightweight plugin for quickly getting your prefixes and suffixes to work, however you want.

Read the Configuration page for instructions on how to use the plugin.

Installation:

Place Simple Prefix.jar into your plugins folder
Restart or reload your server
Edit your config.yml (see here for info)

To remove a prefix or suffix, leave [prefix] and [suffix] out of the command

Use the permission simpleprefix.<group name> to add a person to a group.

As of version 2.3.1, this plugin uses an automatic updater to check if you are running the latest version, and if not, it downloads the latest version. To disable this please set "Auto-Update" to "false" in the config.yml file.

Hello

Im using your plugin its a great help but there is one little problem. It only lets me only have 2 Ranks with prefixes in front and when i change someones rank it will say the same.

Example:

im [Player]

I change someone to

[Member] it works but ........

then i change to

[Admin] Then it will stay as [Member] or it will go back to [Player] prefix

Flabaliki Im starting a server with ranks i have all things ready but i cant get simple prefix to work I want it to say [Owner] in front of my name i had it working but when i try to do it for the groups it wont work for [Owner] and also the group prefixes wont work plz pm me if u can help also im using Pex and not permissionsbukkit

I have everything all set up and nothing else should be changing chat.... It just goes white with "[World]<name> msg" Even though I changed the format..... Also, no commands work.

I am having troubles... I am getting errors when it checks through my yml.... I have a group with prefix: '&d[Admin] &a'

and it is saying that the first & and the first [ are invalid Also, I have no world in my format yet it puts the world in. Also.... when I try spr in either console or in game it says to do /spr help, when I do it says to do /spr help

Seems to be working fine in v2.2.0. Just wait for Bukkit to approve it, and then upgrade to the new version and see if that helps you :)

@WESandTER Damn, that's what I forgot to do! I meant to do that in v2.2 but I forgot, I'll put that on the list for the next version :)

I'm having issues with the prefixes changing when the persons rank is changed. If they are a rank it doesn't go away when switched to a rank without a prefix. Example:When I changed from [Default] to a user the default doesn't go away. The only way it goes away is when I restart the server and I can't be doing that all the time, especially on a high traffic server. I have tried using the /reload command and it does reload my server but it doesn't change the prefix still. Please help.

Good news: I've just posted the new version, should be approved soon! Here are the changes made:

Updated for Minecraft 1.4.5
Added /spr reload
Added ability to have spaces in prefixes / suffixes added from within the game. Eg /spr prefix user <user> [this is my prefix!], will now work in game.
Added multiple prefixes. By setting Template.multiPrefix: true, all of the users prefixes from each group and their own personal one will display with their name, not just the highest ranking prefix.
Factions support will come in a future version, they are currently reworking their entire chat system so there is no point me wasting time implementing the current version when it is soon to be replaced! Sorry, but please be patient for this.

please update this plugin... there is no other prefix plugin that offers so much freedom and is so easy to config/use out there and ever since the update its been broken /= good luck with updating it =D
