Description
Ever wanted to move a mob spawner? With SilkSpawners, you can now pick up and move monster spawners.
If you use a pickaxe with the silktouch enchantment you will receive the spawner again.
You can control each mob spawner, allow crafting and of course mod support.
I'm happy to hear about your opinion, just leave a comment with a feature request, bug, improvement or just a personal opinion.

Commands
Only the bukkit permissions are supported!
I highly recommend that you use a plugin for permissions like bPermissions
If no permission system is found, all commands are for OPs only!
If you suffix a mob name with egg you will receive an egg instead.

/ss help - Displays the help menu.
/ss list|all - Displays all available creatures.
/ss view - Displays information about the viewed spawner.
/ss reload|rl - Reloads the configuration files.
/ss change|set <newMob> - Changes the spawner you are currently holding or viewing at.
/ss give|add <player> <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to the player. Amount is optional.
/ss selfget|i <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to you. Amount is optional.

Known Bugs
- If sign shops are not working, you may want to try my custom sign shop addon: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/12028/
- Mobs like Ghasts or Giants are too big for the spawner, this a Minecraft bug and I can't fix that
- Some older Essentials versions/ports are not updated properly for 1.8. There is a maintained fork called EssentialsX you should try.
- If you use Gui Sign Shop and users are unable to place spawners, you need to grant them the guishop.spawner permission from Gui Sign Shop
- Holographic Displays makes Slime spawners non functional
- UltraCosmetics, causes some spawners to non function: https://github.com/iSach/UltraCosmetics/issues/259

Disabling bStats
The file ./plugins/bStats/config.yml contains an option to opt-out.
The following data is read and sent to https://bstats.org and can be seen under https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/SilkSpawners

- The online mode of your server

Permissions are stable - there were no breaking changes since 3.0
Make sure you have the place and craft permissions, too. Either give a wildcard (.*) or the mob name, a list can be found here:

Posted Jun 3, 2013I enabled permissions and i set permissions using essentials pretty well and... Nobody could pick spawners. The permissions are broken completely. If i disable permissions use, then EVERYONE will be able to pick up spawners and place them :S PLEASE FIX!!!!

Make sure your multiverse setting allowed mob/animals spawning, and make sure the difficulty is at least at "easy" and please make sure (again) there's no plugin that block mob spawning

That's because I stripped the default mobs off ;)
I plan on developing a system which auto detects the new mobs and to add them then to the mobs.yml

Just read that last bit. That's no problem. The MoreMobs (plugin) mobs are quite rare and it's probably cool if they're just randomly sighted, rather than available with spawners.
Thanks for the heads-up, however. I hope the other mod mobs do get support, however. :)

Actually, on the latest version of Mo'Creatures (5.2.2), it has added some new mobs. Those mobs are not showing up yet on the silkspawners list (specifically, the piranha, though there may be more).

Cool! I'm glad to help. I'm designing a very Adventure-ish world using MCPC+ 1.5.1 on the server, so I have many mob mods (and one mob plugin). I recently installed two more, so here are my findings:
Myths and Monsters (mod) - The creatures from this mod do NOT show up on silkspawners list, nor can one use the egg one the spawner (it says "Unrecognized Creature) The Erebus (mod) - This works now. Not sure if you updated or if I changed something but now one can use beetles and maggots on the spawners.
Successful New Mods on SilkSpawners: Legendary Beasts (Mod) - The mobs from here show up on the list. ExtraBiomesXL (mod) - The one mob from this mod shows up (extrabiomesxl.scarecrow). :D CustomNPCs (mod) - The mobs from this mob show up on the list (npchumanfemale, etc.) Reptiles (mod) - The reptiles from this mob show up (crocodile, lace, alligator, iguana).
And as mentioned before, "Mo'Creatures" and "Atum - Journey Into the Sands" mob entities do work with this.
It might be good if when one does /silkspawners list, one can choose a page number (/silkspawners list <pagenumber>. Right now when you do this, you get this huge block of text that disappears a short while later (if you have many mobs), so you have to enter chat (the t key) to see the rest of the list, which has been already lost.

SilkSpawners is not conflicting with glowstone!
(Won't break with spawner in hand, with free hands drops dust)
Only conflict which could occur: Are you using a really old spawner, which is "glowing" like the enchantments?

Posted May 24, 2013Any chance you can implement an option to allow the breaking of mob spawners inside of claimed areas on faction (You can break spawners in other players claimed land). I have seen other silktouch spawner plugins allow it, but it just may have been a bug. Would be awesome if it was a feature & an option was implemented.

Working fine, there were no permission changes in the last few builds.
Make sure to use the right mob names (found here http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/silkspawners/pages/permissions/).
and have turned usePermissions to true

Posted May 17, 2013Hi! Although this plugin works with most of my mods, it won't take "Grimoire of Gaia 2" (mod) mobs, "Primitive Mods"(mod) mobs, or "More Mobs" (bukkit plugin) mobs.
Either that or I don't see in the documentation how to enable them. It works with Mo'Creatures and Atum, however. :D
