Description
Ever wanted to move a mob spawner? With SilkSpawners, you can now pick up and move monster spawners.
If you use a pickaxe with the silktouch enchantment you will receive the spawner again.
You can control each mob spawner, allow crafting and of course mod support.

Commands
Only the bukkit permissions are supported!
I highly recommend that you use a plugin for permissions like bPermissions
If no permission system is found, all commands are for OPs only!
If you suffix a mob name with egg you will receive an egg instead.

/ss help - Displays the help menu.
/ss list|all - Displays all available creatures.
/ss view - Displays information about the viewed spawner.
/ss reload|rl - Reloads the configuration files.
/ss change|set <newMob> - Changes the spawner you are currently holding or viewing at.
/ss give|add <player> <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to the player. Amount is optional.
/ss selfget|i <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to you. Amount is optional.

Known Bugs
- If sign shops are not working, you may want to try my custom sign shop addon: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/12028/
- Mobs like Ghasts or Giants are too big for the spawner, this a Minecraft bug and I can't fix that
- Some older Essentials versions/ports are not updated properly for 1.8. There is a maintained fork called EssentialsX you should try.
- If you use Gui Sign Shop and users are unable to place spawners, you need to grant them the guishop.spawner permission from Gui Sign Shop
- Holographic Displays makes Slime spawners non functional
- UltraCosmetics, causes some spawners to non function: https://github.com/iSach/UltraCosmetics/issues/259

Disabling bStats
The file ./plugins/bStats/config.yml contains an option to opt-out.
The following data is read and sent to https://bstats.org and can be seen under https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/SilkSpawners

Placing spawners is fine - however, when mining/using an explosion to drop a spawner a pig spawner is dropped (not the correct type: when testing I was using a zombie spawner)
Any ideas?

Even with a delay of 20L, I'm still getting a pig spawner.EDIT: No, the change works if I use 20 (without the L).

Posted Mar 21, 2015Thanks for all your feedback, I've added a config setting called "spawnerDelay" in #281.
It's at the bottom. Please experiment a bit with this value and tell me if there is a value which works. This is measured in ticks, so (in general you can say) 1 second = 20 ticks.
SilkSpawners sets the mob type right when the placement event is fired, however this seems broken. After this delay (in ticks, now configurable), SilkSpawners will attempt to set the type again, in case the update was missed.
I still need to investigate the relevant Spigot cause, that broke SilkSpawners.

Posted Mar 21, 2015how do i disable people from using eggs to right click their spawners and change the type of it because people who arent allowed to have villager spawners can just get one by using a egg on it and its really annoying fix it or tell us how to disable it, thanks

Continuing from my previous message - I edited the NBT data of the spawner to change the EntityId to Rabbit. I then used a silktouch pick axe to mine it. This it what I got in my inventory:
I then placed that spawner, and it exhibited the same (incorrect) behavior and spawned pigs.

I'm running CraftBukkit (not Spigot) version CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-234e607 (MC: 1.8.3) and SilkSpawners 3.6.3-SNAPSHOT-b280. I see the 'pig' problem. I get a spawner as a kit (with Lore), place it, it says rabbit spawner placed, I see a rabbit spinning in the spawner, but it spawns pigs. If I look at it and type /ss, it says it's a pig spawner. If I leave the chunk and come back, it then shows a pig spinning in it. When I break it, it says pig spawner broken.
The same thing happens with Essentials disabled.

If you didn't already know, spawner information is no longer saved in the data value. In 1.8 spawner information are saved as a NBT tag.
Use /ss <creature> to give yourself a spawner
And also use the 1.8 version of SilkSpawners, not 1.8.3 as you are running 1.8.
