Description
Ever wanted to move a mob spawner? With SilkSpawners, you can now pick up and move monster spawners.
If you use a pickaxe with the silktouch enchantment you will receive the spawner again.
You can control each mob spawner, allow crafting and of course mod support.

Commands
Only the bukkit permissions are supported!
I highly recommend that you use a plugin for permissions like bPermissions
If no permission system is found, all commands are for OPs only!
If you suffix a mob name with egg you will receive an egg instead.

/ss help - Displays the help menu.
/ss list|all - Displays all available creatures.
/ss view - Displays information about the viewed spawner.
/ss reload|rl - Reloads the configuration files.
/ss change|set <newMob> - Changes the spawner you are currently holding or viewing at.
/ss give|add <player> <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to the player. Amount is optional.
/ss selfget|i <mob> [amount] - Gives a spawner or egg to you. Amount is optional.

Known Bugs
- If sign shops are not working, you may want to try my custom sign shop addon: https://www.spigotmc.org/resources/12028/
- Mobs like Ghasts or Giants are too big for the spawner, this a Minecraft bug and I can't fix that
- Some older Essentials versions/ports are not updated properly for 1.8. There is a maintained fork called EssentialsX you should try.
- If you use Gui Sign Shop and users are unable to place spawners, you need to grant them the guishop.spawner permission from Gui Sign Shop
- Holographic Displays makes Slime spawners non functional
- UltraCosmetics, causes some spawners to non function: https://github.com/iSach/UltraCosmetics/issues/259

Disabling bStats
The file ./plugins/bStats/config.yml contains an option to opt-out.
The following data is read and sent to https://bstats.org and can be seen under https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/SilkSpawners

Posted Feb 12, 2015WAIT. I know what's causing the pig problem! When you place down a spawner with essentials running in the background, it turns it into a pig spawner first, and then runs a quick background command to change it to the correct spawner. SilkSpawners simply just places down the spawner that was in the players hand. But it seems that Essentials is still halfway taking over by turning it into the pig spawner, and then SilkSpawners takes over by leaving it the pig spawner.
Please tell me someone can comprehend what I just said, LOL. All I know is that essentials is messing SilkSpawners. Is there any way around this, other than removing essentials? My server needs both. :(

Posted Feb 11, 2015I have an issue where players place a monster spawner they picked up, and they SOMETIMES get a pig spawner. Their groups have the correct permissions (place.* and pickup.*) and picking up the spawners with a Silk Touch II pickaxe is no problem at all. Some players have no trouble at all placing down spawners they picked up, but sometimes players will randomly get a pig spawner when they place it down. Any way to help me dissect this problem?
Note Some would have their natural Zombie spawner in their hand, place it, and then it becomes a pig spawner. But when I /spawner myself a zombie spawner and give it to them, they are able to successfully place it.
Whoops! Forgot to say, thanks for the awesome plugin. It's a huge hit on my server, everyone thanks you. :)

What is the output when you get the type of the spawner with /silkspawners (just look at it and issue the command)?

I'm not trying to buy them. I'm just using silktouch pick axe on them...I have not economy plugin or shop plugins..I'm running a vanilla server and just want to be able to pickup the spawners. Sorry I wasn't very clear the first time

Posted Jan 27, 2015I was wondering. Is there any way I can get rid of changing spawners from looking at them? This is because I want my players to have perks from donating to have the ability to change spawners to specified mobs. The problem is, is that other spawners in claimed land can be changed by looking at it so it gets rid of the use of protecting your spawners. I tried setting it to 0 but as I have my small background in java I know that won't work as 0 is not represented that way. I also have tried -1 but it also failed. Please reply soon.

When buying spawners please read the red notices - I'm unable to fix this.
If you receive pig spawners via /give or /i, please use /silkspawners.
Do you have any other issues with getting pig spawners, too?
