Basics
When any minecart searches for sign, it looks at 12 different positions.
- any horisontal or vertical adjacent block at same height (not diagonal) - 5 blocks
- any horisontal or vertical adjacent block at height of block under minecart (not diagonal) - 5 blocks
- block that is 2 blocks under minecart - 1 block
- block that is 1 block over minecart - 1 block
Note, that sign position is where it is placed, not to which block it is attached to!
Advanced
All 12 positions have priority and when first sign (in order of priority) is found, other signs (with lower priorities) are ignored.
So the order of search is:
