Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.

If you run into an issue, check if this list already contains and maybe offers information on how to handle it.

Add-On Plugins
Sometimes, a feature is either to specific to include directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. You can find a list of both official and third-party add-on plugins that extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin in the wiki: https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Add-On-Plugins
If you have also written an add-on plugin that you want to add to the list, let me know!

Posted Aug 3, 2014Hey,
I can open villagers that I made just fine, but nobody else seems to be able to open them (When they right click them nothing happens; no message, nothing).
What am I doing wrong?

Posted Aug 3, 2014Hi,
Could someone help:
I am playing on a server with a friend, I am the admin and I made a few shopkeepers for my friend and transferred ownership to him. It says that he is the owner. However, I can still access the chest and edit the shopkeeper's details. It is the same if he makes the shopkeeper himself.
Could someone advise where I can remove this permission from myself, i.e. the ability to edit shopkeepers of other players?
Thanks.

Well, I don't know how Cauldron behaves internally and what might work differently, however:

Posted Aug 3, 2014I am running my server on Cauldron 1.7.10 (BukkitForge), if any of my players (including me) try to take the correct resource from our inventories to trade with the villager, it just cancels the event and put it back in our inventories.

Well I need more information then: I tested on a fresh local server with no permissions plugin at all, created an admin shopkeeper while being op, deoped me, rejoined (just in case that matters) and was able to trade with that admin shopkeeper nevertheless.

With latest version you mean v1.23?
@nsgb The latest versions might still work on 1.6.4. Best way to find out is to try it out.

Posted Aug 2, 2014Hello, I have a server based on MC 1.6.4. Is v1.17.2 the latest version that I can use? Can I compile a later version (like the latest stable 1.18) my self, or was support for 1.6x removed?

Hi, thanks (love the plugin by the way!!) we are running 1.18, but jumped to the latest version and encountered the issue. Had a check through groupmanager and no reference at all to shopkeepers, so no negative permission node. Very strange indeed. Works really well as it is, would just be nice to update. :)

Nope, however this is not the only thing I am working on. Also the last update had some bigger internal changes, that's why it took longer and is only available as alpha version currently.

I am testing with v1.23 and I can trade just fine with admin shopkeepers, even without being op. Are you sure you didn't test with the v1.20 (which had this bug)?
Between the trade permission is given to all players by default already.
Otherwise the issue must be something else.. make sure you didn't setup you permission plugin to remove the trade permission instead.
Or (even more likely) that nothing else (no other plugin) is preventing shopkeeper interaction for normal players in your shop area.
You can also try to turn on debug mode in the config (or via command) and see if it is printing something informative in the console on interaction.

You have to modify the name regex in the config for that. I think the default name length limit is 25. Howeveer, it might be that there is some hardcoded name length limits of 32 (or even less for things like sign shops etc).

Posted Aug 1, 2014Hi again, is it possible for the name to be a bit longer? I tried doing: &dMushroom Armour Merchant, and it's said invalid which probably means it's a bit too long.
Also, is that bug fixed when it shows &dSomethinghere on the GUI?
Thanks again!

Posted Aug 1, 2014Great plugin, players on my server love it!
Is there already, or would it be possible include a feature to create 'supply' shopkeepers?
For example: A shopkeeper that hands out a 'rules' book free of charge.
Thanks!
