Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.

Afaik it's the one in the sidebar.
Why would you want to let them type and name the book? If you really want that function you may as well charge a book and quill that's been renamed in an anvil. It would have the same cost (plus anvil degrade and exp, thinking about it) and can be made by anyone. Item codebooks are only as rare as the book itself, if anyone can make them, they're only as rare as the cost- 1 book and quill. Your signature is unique :D
Basically, what I'm saying is.. that idea is great if you want to distribute library books based on title, but I'd hate to see that functionality added without a config, because I use custom books for trades as a reward system. You can currently simulate it at cost of some iron and exp to the player.

Posted Dec 6, 2012Hi, which is the latest version of the plugin. Is it the version 1.9 in the sidebar or the 1.9-test in the link at the start of the page?
I'm using the one in the sidebar and I have a problem with written books and named items. In my admin shopkeeper I can successfully place these books as items that can be bought by players. However I can't use them as the payment for something else. I want players to be able to exchange a book with a certain title signed my me for another item. However currently the players can use any signed book to get the item, not just the specific one I have written.

Supports them fine for me, are you using a plugin to edit item names/lore? Or an anvil? Some plugins such as ItemRenamer for example don't actually edit the NBT tags so this plugin wouldn't recognize that it was named.

I got same prob before but i realised that you need to put them on same order like if you have trade that the villager wants 1 sugar cane + 1 dirt for 1 diamond You need to place it like if the first box shows sugar can and the second one dirt you need to place on the first one sugar cane then dirt or else when you try pickup the item it goes back. If you didnt understand what i mean i can show you a screenshot..

Posted Nov 27, 2012You may of already done this but, If not could we please have the buttons in the shops the save etc have the items name set and have it changeable in the config? maybe even settings for the Lore as well.
Another bug, Well in my opinion it is a BUG and I class it as a bug because it annoys players and my self. It seems that the GUI trading does not respect data values this means that if i made a shop that buys jungle Planks some smart ass annoying player can come upto my shop and sell me Normal OAK planks and the shop allows him to do that :o This is also a major major issue when it comes to wool.
There needs to be more checks put in place to make sure the item put in is really exactly what It was setup with.
