Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.

If you run into an issue, check if this list already contains and maybe offers information on how to handle it.

Add-On Plugins
Sometimes, a feature is either to specific to include directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. You can find a list of both official and third-party add-on plugins that extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin in the wiki: https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Add-On-Plugins
If you have also written an add-on plugin that you want to add to the list, let me know!

I assume you spawned a wither nearby to a shopkeeper and the explosion of the wither damaged the nearby shopkeeper. The plugin removes all monsters which attempt to attack a shopkeeper.
My current guess on why it does this, is to prevent monsters from continously keep attacking shopkeepers. Though that might also be solveable by simply resetting the monsters target and preventing it from targetting the shopkeeper again in the future (like it is already the case).
I will probably remove this in the next update, and hope that it will cause any other issues I am not aware of right now. This should fix your issue then.
As I don't know when I will release a new update I created a ticket to keep track of it here: https://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/shopkeepers/tickets/434-monsters-removed-when-accidentially-attacking-shopkeepers/

You would have to write a plugin to hook into Shopkeepers and remove the shops in the area.

Posted Aug 22, 2016I have set the config to remove the shop when the chest is broken. However, I am trying to find a way to make this work with AreaShop. When AreaShop area is unclaimed or expires, the chest is removed but the shop stays behind. Is there a command I can add for areashop to run each time a rental ends to make the specific shop go away or is there some other means?

Posted Aug 12, 2016I know you have said you feel like you don't want to do this above in the F.A.Q but do you think you could at least give us the option to have more than 8 item trades per npc. I utilize this plugin a lot because its very useful but it gets messy when I have to use so many npcs because of the different items I trade.

I get the same issue too. I think that SilkSpawners stores extra data regarding whether or not the spawner was mined or created using commands and, because of this, causes issues in Shopkeepers because two spawners don't share the same exact data even though it's the same item and spawner type.

Probably something silkspawners specific, so best your report that to them.

Create a ticket and attach your server log there. Also try updating your spigot server. Most of the time issues are solved by that.

Please don't post stack traces directly into the comment section. Instead upload them to pastebin or similar and only leave the link to it here.
Regarding your issue: You have to update your spigot server to a later version. Shopkeepers is using features which were added in later versions of spigot 1.9.

Is there any way to reset setforhire traders to being not claimed? Ideally I would like to rent out the traders and then have a way to rent them out to others after a while.

You can't. The trading interface only works well with items.

Well, I just tested and I can create the other, enabled shops just fine with sign shops being disabled. So I don't think that it is something related to the sign shops.
Make sure that you have the permission to create shops other than sign shops.
If you can't figure it out, I can try again if you create a ticket and attach your config, as well as a description of how you are trying to create a shopkeeper. I will then try with the default permissions setup (aka: no permissions setup).
