Shopkeepers

Set up custom villager shopkeepers that sell exactly what you want them to sell and for what price. You can set up admin shops, which have infinite supply, and you can also set up player shops, which pull supply from a chest.
It will also prevent any other trades with non-shopkeeper villagers, if you want it to.
For those who are simply looking for a convenient way to modify the trades of vanilla villagers (as an alternative to using complex Minecraft commands), the plugin also includes a graphical editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
Basic Features
- Easily create villager shopkeepers that trade the items you want them to trade.
- Admins shops with infinite supplies.
- Player shops which pull supplies from a chest.
- Different types of player shops: selling, buying, trading, and selling books.
- Various supported mob types to represent your shopkeeper, sign shops, and Citizens (NPC) shops.
- Editor for regular villagers and wandering traders.
- Many configuration options.
- Translatable messages.
- Open source (Source code on GitHub)
Supported server versions
Shopkeepers supports the latest versions of Bukkit / Spigot.
Note that this plugin is created to work with CraftBukkit (or alternatively Spigot). Bukkit does not have an API for some of the things necessary to make this plugin work. This means that other server software (Tekkit, Forge, Cauldron, etc.) will not work with this plugin.
Other CraftBukkit or Spigot derivatives/forks might work, but are not officially supported. So if you run into issues while using those, try to reproduce your issue on a fresh and up-to-date Spigot server first.

Statistics
This plugin uses bStats to collect anonymous plugin usage statistics. This helps me to determine how many servers are using the plugin, which Minecraft versions it is used with the most, and to which degree the different features are used.
Here is a list of all currently tracked information:
- Common information: The number of servers using the plugin, the number of players on these servers, online mode, Minecraft version, plugin version, core count, system arch, operating system, server country, Java version.
- Shopkeepers specific information: Whether specific related plugins are used (Citizens, Towny, WorldGuard, Gringotts, other Vault economy plugins), number of shops, whether player shops are used, whether certain features are enabled in the config (ex. WorldGuard/Towny compatibility, Citizens shops, delayed saves, colored names, chest protection, removal of inactive shops, tax rate, strict item comparison, purchase logging, disabling of other villagers, ..), the number of worlds containing shops.
- All information can be publicly viewed here: https://bstats.org/plugin/bukkit/Shopkeepers/
If you want to disable bStats for all plugins on your server, edit the file plugins/bStats/config.yml, or alternatively disable it only for Shopkeepers by setting 'enable-metrics' to 'false' inside the Shopkeepers config.
Known potential issues

If you run into an issue, check if this list already contains and maybe offers information on how to handle it.

Add-On Plugins
Sometimes, a feature is either to specific to include directly into the Shopkeepers plugin, or I did not yet have the time to add something similar myself. You can find a list of both official and third-party add-on plugins that extend the functionality of the Shopkeepers plugin in the wiki: https://github.com/Shopkeepers/Shopkeepers-Wiki/wiki/Add-On-Plugins

Posted May 24, 2015v1.57-ALPHA for MC 1.6.2, 1.7.x, 1.8.x
This version is marked as ALPHA, because it is including a bunch of internal changes which weren't properly tested yet and which might especially affect trading and saving of shopkeeper data. This version is currently only meant for testing purposes and finding potential issues.
Please create a backup of your shopkeeper save.yml file before using this version.
You might especially want to check if all shopkeeper trades get properly loaded and saved, and if the setup of shopkeepers, trading and item removal and disposal in/from player-shop-chests is working properly.
If you discover any issues please let me know by creating tickets for those.

Please don't post error stack traces in the comment section, but instead create a ticket and attach them there, or upload them somewhere else, such as pastbin.com and only leave the link to it here. They are quite spammy.
Regarding the issue: Please try without AttributeHider. It might be that the issues lies there and is only triggered by shopkeeper when a window is opened.

Unfortunately detailed debug messages, telling exactly why certain items are not similar, are no longer possible with this change.
Previously minecraft did unlock a trade if the type of the offered items matches the required item. Now in MC 1.8.x if a trade requires an item with custom data, such as custom name, lore or attributes, minecraft only unlocks the trade if the offered item perfectly matches the required one (all the item's internal data and attributes have to be the same).
If the required item has no special data, then any item of the same type, even items with special data, can be used for this trade.
Also, minecraft sometimes unlocks a non-selected trade, if the required items of a different trade is matching the ones which are currently inserted.
Shopkeepers is now trying to allow most of those trades as well. So if a trade requires an item without special data, every item of that type is accepted. If an item with special data is required, only perfectly matching items are accepted.
This setting's default is currently set to true, to prevent potential issues with already setup shops, which expect the old/current trading behavior. Also servers running on MC versions below 1.8.x might depend on this setting to be active.
For servers using the latest server versions I recommend disabling this setting, so that the trading logic better matches the one of minecraft.

The underlying shopkeeper should get removed (from the save file) once you delete the citizens npc which holds the related shopkeepers trait, assuming the shopkeepers plugin is running at that moment.
Non-citizens shopkeeper can only be removed via the shopkeeper edit menu.

Posted May 20, 2015Is there a way to delete one specific (non-Citizens 2) shopkeeper?
When you have a Citizens 2 shopkeeper, you can select him easily by looking at him and typing /npc select. Feature Request: Can you make it so that when you issue the command /npc delete the Shopkeeper should also be deleted?
Great plug-in.
Consider integrating this plug-in with Blue Book so that shops could be automatically set up to buy/sell items (based on Blue Book prices).
Cheers.

I know it's intended, but it's breaking the actual shop.

As I said below: that is not a bug, but intended behavior.

Would you mind fixing the lore 'bug' as soon as possible, it pretty much breaks the plugin (unless using vanilla items).

Please create tickets for each of your feature requests. I can look into them once I have some more time.
Regarding walking shopkeepers: that's not something I would currently attempt to add, because of the way the plugin currently stores, loads and unloads the entities.
If you want that maybe take a look at the experimental citizens type shopkeeper. Citizens handles its entities completely differently and thus has more control over what can easily be done with those entities without causing problems. Though it also requires an higher amount of work when updating between versions, that's why shopkeepers is currently doing it differently.
Regarding your issue: this behavior is intentional. The items required and the items offered have to perfectly match in order for the trade to be available. For the future there could maybe be settings with which you can change this kind of behavior to your needs, however currently there isn't.

Feature Requests
Other than that great plugin.
Bug
If the shop item has lore, and your item does not, it can not be traded.

@IamYourDoodie @Bodyash
I made a small mistake in the last update(s) which caused that the code for 1.8.4-compatibility wasn't included in the plugin jar. Sorry for that. Try again with v1.55.
