I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.

Ships 6 changes
Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.
Features
Moving ships
As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.
Works with all blocks
There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.
Teleport to ships
There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.
Falling Ships
Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

Move the ship:
In Ships, movement is done by signs. You can see all signs here
Collide types:
| Name | ID | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Detect collide | DETECT_COLLIDE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the ship will not move with the error of this block being in the way |
| Material | MATERIAL | Material means that you can build a ship out of this block and the Ships block detection system will detect it as part of your ship |
| Ignore | IGNORE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the block will break and the ship will take its place |

I've tried that, it does not function that way for me. It only worked for me with a right click. But then again I'm one of the chosen ones. I can run bare bones only a single plugin to test it, and I'll be one of the 3 people out of the worlds 7 billion whom it won't work for lol. Can't turn left, also cannot move forward because it thinks I have an obstruction. I just have the blessing I guess. *shrugs*

a lot have wanted this major update, some have waited months, that will include
- fixs all item carring bugs
- add the subs
- fixed the doors/ gates (for some people, i dont care about it)
- adds the cannon support (technically the carrying bug)
- cleaned the config from stuff that was there from 2.0 and then outdated
- made the blocks configurable
my theory's suggest this will mostly come in ships 4.0 some will come before, and some after just stating the obvious :)

Posted Aug 8, 2013Is there anywhere I can go to view old bugs and fixes? I seem to have my wheel working again (through permissions), but I can't move anything because "Obstacle on course". I've used only oak wood and wool to make a small ship. (A suggestion, if I may, allowing ships to rotate left or right instead of only turning right by 90. Perhaps two wheels, one for each direction?)

how would they work? bukkit plugins only work on in coded stuff from minecraft
if you would like i would suggest create a world put a command block connected to a repeating redstone add the command /time set 13000 to the command block remove most of the world
you have a space world.
then add airships/ marsships as normal

the response i got from Qx2 was (for the customization in config) "It's a very good idea. I did not want to add the list of blocks to the ship as it slowed to an action plugin (because there is no loop for checking each block). But such a rigid list is acceptable."
this means he probably is working on such a thing, but like every other thing in the to do pile, he needs to code it.
(response from dispenser glich) "I do not remember if I added dispensers, if not then I will add in the near future. This is not complicated."
so again he is working on such things
coding takes time, let him have it

depending on what you are trying to go for in ship design, try and have blocks that cant be burnt(Ironblock diamond block, nether brick fence etc.) make sure there is sufficient space between the area that has the Nether brick fence or metallic block from where your wool starts again, or else the top of the metallic block(I don't know about nether brick fences) will somehow catch on fire and spread to the wool

Posted Aug 7, 2013Any possibility of adding beds and doors to the list of allowed things? Or, possibly allow the items that can be used to be customizable in the config? I'd been using movecraft (until 3 months ago), but that is amazingly broken for me. This appears to be stable, but I find myself limited for a ships true purpose. Your code your rules, I'd just love to see this as an option.
Also, fire keeps trying to spread from my burner. (I'm testing before deployment and only adding wool volume.. It burns wool, as well as jungle wood. It does destroy blocks; but but not normally.) And my wheel doesn't work. It loads as it should, but behaves as if it were just a normal sign Anything I could be doing wrong? I did set wool requirement to 1%. That's it.

this plugin is not build for large ships, thats why Qx2 put a limit on, you can change it lower however expect your server to crash when you build massive ships, i am testing the biggest ship you can have without the server crashing.

Posted Aug 5, 2013Hey since updating to the recent update, double chests don't seem to work quite as well. This happens when turning the ship, the chests go 'within' other blocks, but are physically where they're meant to be but don't look like they are.
