I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.

Ships 6 changes

Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.

Features

Moving ships

As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.

Works with all blocks

There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.

Teleport to ships

There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.

Falling Ships

Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

Move the ship:

In Ships, movement is done by signs. You can see all signs here

Collide types:

Name	ID	Description
Detect collide	DETECT_COLLIDE	If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the ship will not move with the error of this block being in the way
Material	MATERIAL	Material means that you can build a ship out of this block and the Ships block detection system will detect it as part of your ship
Ignore	IGNORE	If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the block will break and the ship will take its place

Permissions

Permission node	Description
ships.cmd.info	Allows the player to use the command '/ships info'
ships.cmd.blockinfo	Allows the player to use the command '/ships blockinfo'
ships.cmd.shiptype.create	Allows the player to use the command '/ships shiptype create'
ships.cmd.config.set	Allows the player to use the command '/ships config set'
ships.cmd.config.view	Allows the player to use the command '/ships config view'
ships.cmd.blocklist.set	Allows the player to use the command '/ships blocklist set'
ships.cmd.blocklist.view	Allows the player to use the command '/ships blocklist view'

Hi, I made a plane, its 159 blocks in total and the when i click on the wheel it says "The plane is to small" i don't know what to do, and its really annoying

Right. It's not the issue I thought it was.... Is the ship made out of blocks that are in the materials list?

Wow you really have a lot of issues with Ships. I think I know the issue but there is 2 things I need you to check.

if you look at your [ships] sign then type '/ships sign track [number of seconds]' does the whole ship get covered in bedrock or only part of the ship?
if you type '/ships info' what is your 'track limit'

Now I have another issue.\ when i right click and left click the sign [wheel] and [altitude] It says' the sign cannot be found'. However if i right click [move] sign it will change from engine to boost and boost to engine but if i left click it it says 'the sign cannot be found' It works normally for [eot] I cant right click the sign [ship] and when i left click it it says '[type] Ship.

I apologize for having a lot issue.

for your cobblestone stair issue. In Materials.yml find the bit that says this

COBBLESTONE_STAIRS: dataValue_-1: 0

where it says "dataValue_-1: 0" change the ending 0 to a 1 to add it to materials list and 2 to add it to RAM materials. For what you want it to do, i would advise changing it to a 1.

as for the [Ships] sign issue. I know why your typing the sign like that, but the image above is actually out of date, it was taken using Ships 4.0.2. Type it like this

[Ships]
<vessel type> (eg. Ship, Airship, Marship, etc.)
<vessel name> (this can be anything as long as its not being used by another ship)

When i make a sign i do

[Ships] ship my username Titanic

But it only appear in color are [Ships] ship my username

It just ignore the present of Titanic and ship becomes the vessel username.

Thanks, the problem is fixed after i re-download the config file.

My ship have cobblestone stair and it says that cobblestone stair is not allowed. I have go through the material file and I can't figure out what it is saying.

right. What is happening here is its got 3 errors. My guess is the last 2 is caused because of error 1. So what should happen is when you fix error 1, the rest should fix themselves.

It is finding the symbol "^" on line 5 in the ships config file. To fix this delete the symbol or delete the config completely (it will replace all other files apart from the vessel data if you delete the whole file).

I know it sounds odd that because the Config file can not boot you can not use the [Ships] sign however they are linked. The error is caused because that line in the config is a breaker in the config. Only "Signs:" should be typed there.

When I create a sign I typed [Ships] Ship

Name I have done this for marsship, airship and ship all did not work out. The moment the sign is placed it just appear to be a normal sign with text on it, however this won't happen to other sign like wheel, eot, altitude.

Hi, Im going to need you to answer the following questions so I gain a clear idea of your issue.

Does the [Ships] sign not work when you try and create another type of Ship?
Are there any errors when booting up?
Are there any errors when creating the [Ships] sign
Do vessels boot up (in console type '/ships developer loadedvessels' to gain a list of all loaded vessels)

If there are any errors then please do tell, you can copy and paste them from your server logs. The server logs are updated when the server stops or crashes

Hi,

I have change the WaterShip file. I changed the maximum size of the ship and the block required which is 159. But the [Ships] sign wont work but the other sign work nicely. Can I know is there any solution to my issue?

Thanks for loving the plugin. I should be able to see what the issue is when I get home. I'll respond properly then.

Edit: I'm still to test cannons again for your issue. But I saw that the error code you gave me. There is no error code there just the event that was fired and lines where the error should be. I think I know the issue and it is fixed in the next ships 5 update. The error also has a issue of Ships Damage. My guess is if I send you the upcoming ships update, it will fix all 3. But I'll test for all issues that are caused by my plugin, I'll also get ships damage owner to take a look but not sure how much we are able to do without the full error

Hey first off i love this plugin, i am currently working on some unique server with it. I have run into a few issues. First, in Ships5, Cannons button gets messed up when you turn the ship.

Last Ships 5.0.1.0 Prerelease

Ive been working on Ships 5.0.1.0 Prerelease 6 in the background. I have been working on college stuff too and college got priority ... sorry. I will also say Prerelease 6 is the last planned Ships Prerelease (maybe patch releases after) but the next planned release is Ships 5.0.1.1 full release. I know i never got the Solarship or the hybrid ship working but they will come in a later full release. Prerelease 6 does not add many new features, just more efficient code, a bug fix here and there and hopefully the automatic default water level check (ive programmed it in, just not tested it yet). You will also gain a lot more access in the configuration about messages. Hope you enjoy

No no. What you have just described is a different error. What you described is the default water level not being right. If you go to your configuration file you will find a section that states defaultwaterlevel. If your trail is higher then lower the value. If the trail is lower then increase the value.
