I am testing this new page out. I am aware of some parts that are missing such as ship types, but please say if there is anything that you wish to see. I plan on making a FAQ's that includes common questions such as how to change ship requirements.

Ships 6 changes
Ships has gone through many changes, Ships 6 is the latest rewrite of the plugin. The latest rewrite fixes multiple bugs found in the root of previous versions of Ships.
Features
Moving ships
As the name of the plugin suggests, you can create your own ship and move it with just a single click.
Works with all blocks
There is a fully-fledged list where you can configure every block to react differently for the ships, including being able to add a block type to interact with Ships, detect it as a collide, and even not react at all.
Teleport to ships
There have been many requests to be able to teleport to ships for not only this plugin but others like it. This feature has been added to Ships, however, if it is something you do not wish, then you can disable to command by not adding the command.
Falling Ships
Ships will fall/sink if requirements are not met, this could be done through your own interaction such as running out of fuel, or by something else such as a TNT explosion.

Move the ship:
In Ships, movement is done by signs. You can see all signs here
Collide types:
| Name | ID | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Detect collide | DETECT_COLLIDE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the ship will not move with the error of this block being in the way |
| Material | MATERIAL | Material means that you can build a ship out of this block and the Ships block detection system will detect it as part of your ship |
| Ignore | IGNORE | If Ships detects this block in the way of a ship moving then the block will break and the ship will take its place |

Posted Dec 8, 2013well, seeing as how the last update was only Jul 29, 2013 and the Development Stage is listed as Release I figured Qx2 might still be looking at it. I'm running it quite well on Bukkit's Dev release of 1.7.2, although I read somewhere it is technically 1.6.4 but made to run like 1.7. I don't know how or care really, I don't know enough about programming to say either way. :)
Well, I guess I'll just remove it. It only moves about every second for 1 block or makes sudden jumps of 20+ every 3 or 4. Oh well. I still think this code could be used to make some interesting platforming stuff maybe.

hey i was just testing the new code in pre release 3 (didnt work due to my rss not being up yet, but i had a go at moving an airship and well ... i couldn't, so i looked at pre release 2 (no tester has told me anything about that) i could not move ships.
so i look at pre release 1 (2 testers said it was ok, no problems with it) ... i could move ships 2 blocks, but it also crashed my console ... how is that not a problem?

err ... the way your speaking it sounds like you dont know that this project is not being updated, i do know some clients can still use the Qx2 ships plugin on 1.6.4 and 1.7.2 but majority of people can not.
the reason is java 7 uses map and java 6 uses map.entity, the imports are different.
anyway if you ask ill give you the link to the reloaded plugin of this, makes it work on java 7 and has a few extra features and bug fixes.

I was thinking of the fact that hot air balloons don't use much fuel once up and are flown by up and down only. To my knowledge they only counteract spin and have the vaguest means of so called steering.
The elevator I specifically meant he could design a setup (without wool) using code he's already got. Something more like a box that requires being attached to cobble walls on 3 sides. As it is I would require my 'balloon' to use this mod for elevator.

Seems like you could use this methodology to create an actual elevator.

Posted Dec 6, 2013Ok I have a problem and I don't know if anybody else has this but when I put the sign on the ship that I want to create and fill it out like [ships] marsship and then click done it tells me I don't have perms even though I'm op and owner of the server.
