Sentry for Citizens2

Sentry is a character plugin for the NPC plugin Citizens2. With Sentry, NPC's can be set to guard areas or act as bodyguards. Hostile targeting, retaliation, and a variety of options and stats allow a Sentry NPC to be customized to almost any guarding or combat situation.
Features
Sentries Can:
- Attack monsters, players, and groups automatically. Sentry also has built-in support for Factions, Towny, War and SimpleClans
- Kill, and be killed by, players, monsters, and the environment.
- Guard locations, paths, players, or other NPCs.
- Use ranged or melee weapons. Shoot arrows, fireballs, snowballs, eggs, lightning, and potions with deadly accuracy.
- Be configured with stats such as Strength, Health, Armor, Speed, Range and even Night Vision!
- Ride mounts!
- Work with Denizen to become Bosses and Quest NPCs that run scripts upon death.
Installation
- Install Citizens2 You must use the correct version for your version of Bukkit
- Download the correct Sentry from the Citizens Wiki. You must use the correct version for your version of Bukkit
- Place Sentry.jar in your minecraft /plugins/ directory. Start your server.
- Create a NPC with Citizens and give it the 'sentry' trait.
/npc create Town Guard --trait sentry
- Customize your Sentry's stats and options and you're ready to go.

Configuration
Sentry makes a config.yml in the plugins/Sentry folder on first load. Use this to tailor Sentry to your server. You can:
- Set defaults for new sentries
- Change or disable the item used for various attack types
- Add potion effects like slow or blindness to certain Sentry weapons.
- Add armor, strength and speed buffs to armor and weapons for Sentries.
- Set critical hit chances and messages.
The config.yml is commented with instructions.

edit: It works now with latest build, so problem is fixed.

Posted Oct 30, 2012Hi can anyone help me please, i have on our Minecraft Server the newest version 1.4.2 installed and all versions that does work on it.
But now to the problem, the Sentrys didnt attack enemys (player, Mobs ect pp) in close combat, all other weapons work for distance combat, but nothing to meele fighting... I testet Iron_Sword, Gold_Sword, Diamond_Sword, Wood_Axe and much more, but nothing works.
Is it possible that somethings wrong in the config?

We've moved on to 1.4.2, but we are aware of several issues, mostly in citizens core. Movement and melee attacking are done in citizens not sentry. If you have a bug that's cause by sentry then please post it here. Posted Oct 30, 2012As always love the way you consiensously update and attend to issues quickly. I have tried Citizens build 512 with the new Craftbukkit 1.4.2 and it is running some bugs. Do you want these logged yet or are you still focussing on 1.3.2 ?

Posted Oct 29, 2012I personally loved #1 but have not for the life of me ever got #2 to work, if some one is willing to contact me and help I would he greatful.. I see on the dev build thing it always says snapshot.. and that makes no SENSE what so ever to me =/ I really would love to get it working on my server again.

both, you can use /npc copy or /template

Posted Oct 26, 2012Man, this looks astonishingly cool.
Can anyone tell me if it's possible to create a whole mess of Sentry NPCs with the same settings and equipment without having to perform the same series of commands repeatedly for each? Is it possible to clone an NPC, or set up a preset NPC type or something?

Posted Oct 24, 2012I have a small issue, I have guards that path and have a small range. When they engage a mob they stop pathing. Is there a way to have them continue their pathing?

Posted Oct 22, 2012hi guys, I have a question. When I create NPC and write /sentry guard me or another NPC they following but when someone hit for example me, bodyguards hit enemy but he don't lose any points, just they can waving their swords infinity
and how can I change that archer shoot to another guard (accidentally) and second NPC attack him for this it's stupid :/
EDIT: I have the newest version of Citizens and Sentry. I don't have any problems with path command .... EDIT: When I write "ignore add (second mob and vice versa) they still fight when mob-archer suddenly shot swordsman ...
