Secrets Behind Paintings
Hide secret switches, furnaces, and chests behind paintings! Now you can have concealed hidden chambers using sticky pistons!
Build houses with secret chambers that anyone can accidentally stumble upon!
How it Works
Secrets Behind Paintings (SBP) detects when you right-click on a painting and calculates the block you would have clicked on were the painting not there. It then allows you to interact with that block.
Getting Started
- First design a switch, button, chest, etc in a hole in the wall.
- You must place a sign in front of that, flush with the surrounding wall.
- Finally place painting so that it covers wall and sign
- Right-click where you think the secret is and watch the magic happen! (Buttons are extremely hard to hit)
Turning SBP On And Off
You cannot disable SBP. It is always on. Whenever you right-click a painting, SBP checks for a sign behind the painting and then checks what you would've clicked.
Features
- Supported in all modes!
Known Issues
- This plugin does NOT allow you to interact with villagers behind paintings. (Villagers are entities, not blocks. This plugin only allows interactions with blocks)
Hypothetical Issues
- SBP's current status is home server plugin. (suggested use with friends) due to the fact that it allows a user to interact with a chest / furnace. This may bypass chest protection features... meaning somebody may be able to steal your resources if they construct a painting and sign in front of it, and then click through.
- This plugin may produce lag in the server, please comment on this page if you are affected.

I'm making this project open source in the hopes that I can get more help.
-OR- that dedicated coders can get this plugin updated when I fall behind in the update schedule...

Posted May 7, 2013Thank you CodeWolf for the appreciation, and also pointing out that my plugin stopped working.
I have jumped back on the horse and have uploaded 3 revisions to be compatible with the 3 latest craftbukkit builds. I have also opened up this plugin for everyone to read on Github.

Posted Jan 7, 2013This doesn't work with the newest beta build of CraftBukkit. Hopefully, the author will update it soon. Great mod in previous versions!
