Metakey is key some metadata is stored under. This metadata is can be different for each player. For example mcMMO stores the player profile (with all all data about skill progress) there while the player is online. In this case the metadata storage of Bukkit is accessed.

Posted Apr 22, 2014@DerekZil PEX is actually not for noobs. It take more skill to use and people with no understanding of it think of it as crap. GroupManager is a simple plugin to use but you are still restricted with it. PEX can do anything you want it to.

That is a blaitant lie. Pex is easier to setup than Groupmanager. I should know, as i ran it on my server for 3 years, until the plugin became 'broken' for prison servers, and couldn't manage ranks. So, I used the more reliant groupmanager. But this isn't the place to fight about it.
