Saga

Saga is designed to be a complete solution for RPG servers. Saga allows players to form factions for pvp, establish settlements with numerous buildings, develop abilities and unlock skills. Here is a small list of some of features saga will bring to your server:
- Faction Features
- Players can create factions and invite other players.
- Declare wars on factions and sieges on settlements.
- Wages based on the amount of taxes collected from settlements.
- Assign members roles that grant attribute bonuses, abilities and faction permissions.
- Settlement Features
- Ability to create settlements and invite players.

- Settlements gain new claim points every minute, based on amount of online members.

- Players gain attribute and ability points from killing both mobs and players and by harvesting resources.

It works now, after a reset of Saga :) Thank you It's a good system. Have you got already an idea of the futur spawn of ressource? The current one allows us to protect our whole map and keep it clean for quests and pvp: no grief, no map "ressource" needed.

Hmm, it worked for me.
It should only create a limited amount of ore every day. You can remove the refinery if you think it poses a serious risk. From buildings.json remove the element:

1) Yeap, mine and refinery are adjacent in my test. 2) I tried with mined ore (from the mine) and spawned ore (from creative inventory and with the /give), the result is the same.

I see...
The refinery asks the mine for some ore. The mine tells that it has enough ore to create ingots (2 ore -> 3 ingot). Then refinery creates the ingots, but fore some reason it can't retrieve all ore from the mine.
There are 2 possibilities I see: 1) The chunk with the mine gets unloaded. Does it have the same problem if the mine and the refinery are nearby? 2) Iron ore might have data value, even if you don't see it. Do you put generated, spawned or mined ore in there?

Posted Jan 5, 2013I found the same problem than Serathil with only the refinery.
There is also the problem even with mine and refinery set. By default, when I put 2 iron ore (or more) in the mine storage, always 9 iron ingots appear in the refinery storage without one ore disppears from mine storage. When there is only one ore in the mine storage, nothing happens, the refinery storage stay empty.

In fact there is a mothertown on our serveur. This city is out of the war, out of the Factions plugin (at the moment we use Saga on a tests server but we will use it instead of Factions). Protect this City with Worldguard is more friendly-administration because it is not chunk based: we need to modulate the town at will.
We did not found alternatives, but keep your priorities, do not spend time if you do not really want to make that now :)

Building points depend on the amount of land claimed. You just need to claim. Will have a look at the refinery.

Posted Jan 4, 2013ah ok ok ;) but the settlements need buildpoints.. how can we manually increase them?
and as for the refinery and the mine.. i tested it out when i didnt have a mine.. only a refinery.. and when i put a storagechest in the refinery with some ore.. it kept creating unlimited amounts of gold/iron... this might be abused by players later unless there is a restriction that you need a mine before the refinery can be placed.. or that it doesnt use the ore in a storage chest to start the refining process (which seems quite weird now that i think about it so i classify that as a bug? :P)

Factions and settles dont have levels anymore. You just increase the amount of claims (/afsetclaims /assetclaims). Refinery takes ores from a mine, so thats where your "free" ore is coming from.
You can't sell items. You need an external plugin to do that. I will be reworking the entire economy next. Will make it so settlement sells excess ores automatically and gives to its members.

Posted Jan 4, 2013thanks for the reply. now i have some more questions though. how do i set the level of a faction or settlement to the max? or just the buildingpoints for settlements? i cant seem to do it in the config of the settlement itself, since it will just overwrite it again to the old status.
also a thing about the refinery.. i add a storage... i put ores inside the storage.. and it generates refined ore (iron and gold bars) but it does NOT take any of the ores i put in first.. basically generating unlimited amount of iron/gold with just 1 ore block... is this a bug or?
and how do i use the trading post to sell items to it? i can use the buy signs (checked in your server :P) but you got no sell signs haha.

Owner is removed if the settlement has no members left. Just be the last member and quit it.
You should be able to get what you need.
Saga protects chests only in certain buildings, so most of the chests are unprotected by default. There is no option to give a faction access to those protected chests. However, factions have access to storage areas by default. Most production buildings have those. Storage areas can have chests. You can give any building a storage area by editing the configs.
economy.json: "factionClaimsPointsWage":{"x1":0,"y1":0,"x2":40,"y2":100}, The 100 at the end is what you can gain for a single owned settlement. Larger settle gives more coins. Caution, I will remake how you get wages soon.

Posted Jan 3, 2013alright ive been playing on your server for a while and have decided to give it a try we want to make settlements not only claimed... but also controlled! we will build settlements without owners.. when someone claims it they get ownership of that land... with the use of chests but unable to break the items.. and when someone else claims it.. the owner will change accordingly. is it possible to do that?
also how do you make a settlement without an owner... i want to have a spawn using the settlement for protection. but i cant leave the settlement without destroying it. is there a way to do this? or is it easier to use another plugin for spawnprotection?
the adjustment of wages gained is written in a formula, (same for other data values btw) I have no knowledge of this so can you explain how i adjust them?
I love the plugin.. its one of the best out there.. its easy to tell its still in beta.. but there is so much content you can play with that its really unclear what certain things do.. and what it is capable off. i know you will write a user guide when you've updated it further but a little explanation at each data value in the configs would be handy.
