What is Safe Creeper
---
Control creepers, Withers, EnderDragons, Enderman, TNT, Fireballs and a lot more!
With Safe Creeper you can control creeper explosions and other things like, fireballs, TNT, Enderman and a lot of other things, you can set if a creeper explosions destroys blocks. You can set if Zombie's can break down doors. You can also set a lot of other things, the possibilities are almost endless! A few other examples are that you can set up if players are able to use TNT blocks, if creepers will explode above the surface and underneath they wont, set if Enderman can place and break blocks, even if they can clone blocks, explosion sounds, smoke effects and a lot of more things. The plugins is fully configurable and it has multi world support. This is a must have for most server administrators.
Example Video
---
This is an video witch explains the config file system of an older version of Safe Creeper, it should work very similair with the current version. This video also shows you some features from Safe Creeper:
Features
---
This is a small list of features witch Safe Creeper can provide for your server. If you want to see the full list, and a list of planned features, visit this page: Page: Features
- Set if creepers damage the world, also fireballs, TNT and other things
- Get full control of the Wither and EnderDragon bosses!
- Enderman support, set if enderman can place and break blocks, also set if they can clone blocks (get blocks but don't remove them from the world)
- Multi World support
- Start the plugin before loading the world, to ceep everything safe while generating the world and adding the mobs on it
- Optional function that your settings are only avable between two levels, for example, if you want, a creeper can explode only underneeth a level (y coordinate) and above a level.
- Explosion sounds, enable or disable explosion sounds
- Explosion smoke effect
- Set if players can place a TNT block
- Set if creepers will be powerd when they hit by lightning
External Connections
---
Safe Creeper makes some connections to external servers. One of these connections is to dev.bukkit.org itself. Safe Creeper uses this connection to check whether there are any updates available. Safe Creeper is able to download these updates automatically from the dev.bukkit.org servers. Since Safe Creeper 1.5.2.3, Safe Creeper is also posting anonymous statistics to statistics.timvisee.com. This post request contains little information about the plugin and the server it´s running on. This request contains the version of Craft Bukkit, the version number of Safe Creeper, and the amount of online players, this post request may also contain additional information coming from Safe Creeper itself, like the amount of Creeper´s nerfed by Safe Creeper. A server address is not included because the statistics system is anonymous. The Safe Creeper statistics system will send the server´s address if enabled in the configuration file. This statistics system has been implemented to give people the ability to see how many servers Safe Creeper is running on. And to give an overview of the global usage of certain Safe Creeper features. All these systems could be disabled in the configuration file. Safe Creeper does not connect to any other external server than the two described above.

Hi, It's probably a bug in Safe Creeper :(, I'll fix this right now. There is a way you can temporary fix this problem. If you go into the global file, you've to turn the PlayerControl on, after you done that turn 'CanSleep' to false, and check if it works now. It's probably accidentally inverted.
Btw, make sure you put it back to true or just turn the PlayerControl off again because it should work like normal again in the upcomming version (because it is inverted now, probably)
P.S. If this works, could you please send me a message back? :)

Posted Nov 29, 2012Does anyone know why the SafeCreeper plugin would make it so beds do not work properly? Someone who plays on my server recently brought it to my attention that they could not sleep at night. I only have a couple of add-ons, so it was easy to figure out which one was causing the problem. When I remove the SafeCreeper plugin, beds work like normal. When I add the SafeCreeper plugin back in, beds no longer work.
I looked at the global.yml file and I don't see anything that has anything to do with beds. I updated to SafeCreeper 1.3.2 and the problem persists.

Hi, If ExtraHardMode only changes the explosion size, or the health of creepers, I hightly suggest you to disable this feature in ExtraHardMode and enable it in the CreeperControl.
I think ExtraHardMode creates custom explosions, this means that you've to enable 'OtherExplosionsControl' and allow them to destroy the world etc. I think this change will fix your problem.
Hope this helps,

Posted Nov 28, 2012Safe Creeper v1.3.2 - Small update...
Safe Creeper 1.3.2 has been released. This is just a small update. The update fixes the error printed in the console if a entity dies from unknown causes. This error would spam the console if you use a command to kill all the mobs. Anyhow, it's fixed now. I hightly suggest you to update!
Download
Because the bukkit administrators need to validate the new plugin files, the download probably isn't available yet on this page. We highly recommend you to download the file from bukkit or my (timvisee's) website:
Bukkit direct link: http:dev.bukkit.org/media/files/651/456/SafeCreeper_1.3.2.zip
My website direct link: http:www.timvisee.com/download/99
All versions: http:timvisee.com/projects/bukkit/safe-creeper/downloads/
How to update Safe Creeper from 1.3.1
Important! Different than before: Because of the newly added file updater it's way easier to update Safe Creeper. The only thing you've to do is update the SafeCreeper.jar files. All your config files are automaticly updated as soon as you restart the Safe Creeper plugin with the new .jar file. Also, all the new features are automaticly added to your config files, so there's no need to fully setup all the config files again!
How to install Safe Creeper 1.3.2
If you haven't installed an earlier version of Safe Creeper on your server you've to do the following to install Safe Creeper on your server. The first thing you've to do is download the files of Safe Creeper 1.3.2. Inside this downloaded .zip file is a SafeCreeper.jar file. You need to place this file into your plugins folder of your server. Make sure you've shut down your server first. Then you also need to copy the Safe Creeper (from the downloaded .zip file) into your plugins folder, because this folder contains all the config files. If you are not able to add this folder you don't have to copy them. Safe Creeper will automaticly generate it's config files if they aren't available on start up. Although I highly suggest to copy this folder if you are able to. After this you can make your changes in the config files if you want and you can start up your server again.

Hi,
Thank for reporting the problem, the lucky thing is that it's the same error, I took a look at it and it doesn't really affect the security/safty of Safe Creeper, I mean everything should feel as it is meant to be. I'll take a look at the problem right now, and I'll try to fix it. I've to say that I've noticed the same problem in my own server :$
Tim Visée
P.S. An update should be available today ;)
EDIT: The issue seems to be very easy to fix, thats what I can tell from the error reports. :)

Thanks for noting, I'll take a look at this, it might be because of the new core. What kill command are you using btw? Is it the butcher command from WorldEdit/WorldGuard?
And yes 1.3.1 should fix this, but I think it didn't worked :-/
Also, could you send me the error log.

Posted Nov 27, 2012Safe Creeper v1.3.1 - Small update...
Safe Creeper 1.3.1 has been released. This is just a small update. One little bug has been fixed witch causes errors in the console, also some default settings in the config are changed. Please read everything bellow to get more information about how to update to the newest version of Safe Creeper.
Download
Because the bukkit administrators need to validate the new plugin files, the download probably isn't available yet on this page. We highly recommend you to download the file from bukkit or my (timvisee's) website:
Bukkit direct link: http:dev.bukkit.org/media/files/650/430/SafeCreeper_1.3.1.zip
My website direct link: http:www.timvisee.com/download/97
All versions: http:timvisee.com/projects/bukkit/safe-creeper/downloads/
How to update Safe Creeper from 1.3
How to install Safe Creeper 1.3.1
If you haven't installed an earlier version of Safe Creeper on your server you've to do the following to install Safe Creeper on your server. The first thing you've to do is download the files of Safe Creeper 1.3.1.

Posted Nov 26, 2012Safe Creeper v1.3 - New core, lots of new features...
Safe Creeper v1.3 has just been released! This update contains a lot of new features, but also some useful fixes. The first notable thing is that the config core is changed, Safe Creeper should now even be faster and because of this, a lot of new features could be added. Another amazing new thing is 'Locations', this gives you the ability to apply changes to a certain area instead of the whole server (or world using world files). These areas could be defined using Levels, Factions, Mob Arenas, PVP Arenas and more. Another thing witch has been added to almost every control is 'Effects', this gives you the ability to emit effects or play sounds when a mob spawns, when a mob got damaged, there are a lot of other triggers. Also a file updater has been added, if you install Safe Creeper v1.3 or above, Safe Creeper will now automaticly convert their old config files into new ones, so you don't have to setup all the files again after your updated, it's now fully automated! Because of this, also all the new settings are automaticly added into the config files, with no need of manually updating the files! There are a lot of other new features and fixes, please check the change log for more information.

In the upcomming version I rewrote the whole plugin core, and a lot of usefull and unique features has been added, like features to prevent your server from crashing (by TNT) etc, and a lot of other neat features. In this version this problem should be fixed. I might be able to release the update tomorrow, but it might also be a day later.
