Residence

About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

Its not the owners I'm worried about. The issue is non owners.
If the owner leaves the door open, non owners can walk in and use the chests. So I'm not getting how I set it up to prevent that

You don't need to set the residence's global container flag to true if you're using the group flags, but you could just set the global flag to false.
On rental, the owner's flags are removed and the renter gets the admin flag turned on (which overrides all player-specific flags like build, use, and container)

You need to change Residence's config.yml

So for the housing for rent (Rust1 is the name) should I do
/resadmin gset Rust1 default container false
/resadmin set Rust1 container true
Would that prevent everyone from using unless they are renting the residence?

To change the world I do not use Multiverse-Core, just use the plugin "World Portal". In config.yml all I get is this: **

It may be a config issue on your end.
Flags are checked in the following order
Those set by pset, then those set by gset, then those set by set
If a flag is not set (neither true nor false) at a given level, it will fall through to the next level. (i.e. a user can be explicitly denied access when either his group or the global permissions are set true)

You should be able to change the line in config.yml that says:
MultiWorldPlugin: Multiverse-Core
to
MultiWorldPlugin: World Portal
or if that doesn't work...
MultiWorldPlugin: 'World Portal'

Well now it's working, I had to set it to true in the config first, now if it's on the flag will set. It might have just been a server lag on my end (I'm testing on my home PC until it's ready to launch)
The issue I found is if a residence is for rent and it has a container flag:true on it, anyone that gets into the residence can use the container even if they are not renting the residence. Or is this a config issue on my end?
Right now Rust1 flags: -pvp -firespread -tnt +Container -ignite -piston -use -flow -creeper -build

For the container permission issue... Can I ask you to provide me with all of the flags shown when doing a "/res info"?

"Do you have to configure something in the file config.yml when have more than one world?"
There is an option in config.yml for MultiWorldPlugin which defaults to Multiverse-Core. If you are using a different plugin for multiple worlds, you will need to change this setting. I believe it causes the MutliWorldPlugin to be loaded before Residence (so that Residence can find the other worlds).

Posted Apr 12, 2012Hello for some time I have a rather strange problem. When I create a protection in another world than the main (world) or nether clears the protection automatically when you restart the server why?.
Since version 1.2.3 of Bukkit takes me past this problem. Currently I have installed the latest version of WordEdit and Resident, but previous versions I was the same. Can it be to have multimundos? Do you have to configure something in the file config.yml when have more than one world?
Thanks.

That would be nice...we are gearing up to switch plugins completley because of this. Users are very upset because people are running around killling with splash potions in residences that they were sure was PVP free. There might as well not be a pvp:false flag if you can in fact kill someone in their res. Giving griefers the ability to cause havoc.

Because splash potions become separate entities, it isn't directly considered PVP. Since splash potions are AOE, the best we can do is cancel splash potions in non-PVP residences, but that would also mean that you can't use them against mobs in those residences either.
On second thought, we may be able to use PotionSplashEvent.setIntensity(player, 0). That might work.

Posted Apr 12, 2012Any word on why we can kill people with harming potions in a PVP=FALSE residence? Is that going to be looked at?

If you are running 2.5.7, you will need to do "/res select worldedit" (it is case-sensitive). If you are running a version older than 2.5.7, WorldEdit is not supported.
Can you provide the exact message you are receiving and any errors that appear on the server console?

Yea I just let out a huge "Son of a bitch"... Thanks. Been working on this server for a minute and some plugs I used to use don't work, or there are issues with current ones, and so on. So I got a little QQ... THANKS
If I may bug you again though,
I have the admin permission (and also for the signs plug as well). I am trying to set a container flag for my room r1.
I typed in /resadmin set r1 container true and "Flag set..." pops up, but the players still do not have access to containers.
I also tried /res set r1 container true but I get "You do not have permission for this"... again I have the residence.admin node. Any ideas?
Otherwise this plugin is freaking awesome. I deleted 3 other plugs because this combined them into a nice, light package
