Residence

About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

How are you selecting the two points? If you are using WorldEdit's selection, you need to use "/res select worldedit"

Posted Apr 11, 2012I gave myself residence.admin
I selected 2 points
I typed /resadmin select size and I get "Invalid select comand...
I typed /res select size I get "invlaid select command
I said screw it and typed /resadmin create room1 and got "Select two points first before using this command"
Please just throw me a bone here. I finally found a worth-a-damn plugin that will allow me to rent out rooms (using your signs addon) without fencing everywhere and I just can't figure it out.
I'm using 1.2.5 with updated worldedit/guard

While standing within the residence, use /res bank <deposit|withdraw> <amount>
To view the balance of the bank of a residence, use /res info

Posted Apr 11, 2012I see some references to "residence bank" in the config files, but didn't see any command to use this residence bank. Wiki does not help much.
Is there any way users can access the bank of a residence they own?

Can you paste the config that's giving you this? There may be something wrong in your Groups section.

Ahh! fantastic thank you for that information.
Now i want to report this severe error i get everytime a server is started. You can find it on this link, http://dev.bukkit.org/paste/5085/.
I could describe how i get it on this part of the message.
I don't get this error when residence is freshly generated but after modifying some things on the config this start to pop out.
I modify how much residence per group can make, in short i made couple of groups so each groups get specific limits of residence, after doing this, that error just starts to pop out, any suggestions on what is it and if there is a fix for it?

Based on the line number where the error is occurring, it appears that one of the res_<world>.yml files is corrupted and is failing when attempting to read the "Seed:" value.
These files are in plugins/Residence/Save/Worlds

Can you reply with the plugins you have installed? Were you running a previous version of Residence before?

In the more recent releases of Residence, a folder containing an older version of the jar was included. This folder is not in 2.5.7.

Are you using permissions that allows you to control permissions in different worlds?

Posted Apr 11, 2012Am I right in thinking that it is no longer necessary (as suggested in the comments in the default config.yml file) to set LegacyPermissions to true in the config when using Residence with PermissionsEx and the PEx Permissions compatibility plugin?
With it true (which used to be required), I get repeated "[SEVERE] Could not pass event PlayerMoveEvent to Residence" messages; with it false, everything seems to work fine.
Are there any plans to support PEx natively? The Permissions compatibility plugin is deprecated and has been dropped from the distribution as of 1.19, although the jar from 1.18 still works (for now).
Thanks,
Stephen

Well, what I'm actually worried about is that other features might suddenly stop working with Residence v2.5.7 and due to the WorldEdit selection not corresponding with Residence v2.5.6 I'm still on v2.5.5beta which works fine but now that they add a support on WorldEdit selection tool what keeps me from not updating to v2.5.7 is that big KiB changes that wasn't added to the v2.5.7 change log.
I would just like to hear a comment from one of the authors about it.

This it is due to an unnecessary file contained within the jar in the previous versions by the looks of it to me. Probably was an issue with their build system or something that got fixed.

Just a quick question.
Why is on Residence v2.5.7 the KiB is less than 100 which is now 203 KiB but theres not much changes on v2.5.7, in fact world edit selection support was added and if you look on the previous versions its 303 KiB.
Any thoughts on this?
or Residence v2.5.7 just had a huge code clean up from previous craftbukkit versions meaning it either lacks features now or just got better because its more bug free without reducing the feature already built-in.

Posted Apr 10, 2012What is the permission nodes for this?
i cant allow my players to use /res pset <- for.ex. i can only give res.admin and then they can use /resadmin.
