Residence

About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

That happens if you teleport into or out of a residence in a different dimension.

Actually, the best solution to the iConomy version problem is to use Vault. It will be required in Residence 3.

That may be true, but I can't reproduce it. Nor have I had it happen in the last year and a half of the time I've been running the plugin. It's listed as a possible known bug, however not one of the posts about the problem has been complete. It's also not common. If you want help with this problem provide the following:
list of plugins, plugin versions, craftbukkit version, server.log, and any other log file that may be related. Until at least one person provides the information, there's nothing we can do. Keep in mind Residence verify's a world's seed against the save, and removes the save if the seed is incorrect. If "world_nether" has a 123456 seed, and later has a 09876 seed, Residence will remove the save file for that world. I wouldn't call that ignored, I'd call it dismissed.

Posted May 11, 2012You just ignored 3 people with MASSIVE problems.
For some random reason, It deleted all the server's residences TWICE NOW!
This is a serious issue and renders the plugin unusable.
I would stay away from this until it has been addressed. The concept is the best but this is just too big of a problem.

I'll see what I can do, but I need the file you made originally. If you are unable to pastebin it, send me a pm and I'll send you an email address to send it to.
Edit: If the translation is done well, it can be added to Residence in the next jar release. I'll need some help to make sure it's done right however. If you can jump on the irc channel, that would help.

Nate i have windows 7 at home and run a server. If i set Language.yml to ANSI everything works at home. If i paste this translate to my hosting server i got this error when load it:
http://pastebin.com/wUXEt291
If i set coding to UTF-8 special characters (é, á, í ect.) doesn't apperars at home and at my hosting's server but load it. So if i use UTF-8 coding nowhere works but if i use ANSI the translation works at home, but doesn't work on my hosting's server.
I have Windows 7 at home and my hosting use Linux.
This is an exaple line in my translate with UTF8 coding:
InvalidResidence: Érvénytelen teleknév...
This apperars in game:
rvnytelen teleknv

windows 7 natively supports uft-8 and not ansi, where as linux may support both depending on the version. You will need to convert it to utf-8.
@djaddi
If these changes are implemented, you will most likely see them in Residence 3.
@josip1
One of the files isn't parsing correctly, it may have been corrupted. This doesn't sound like a Residence problem, you have have something else going on.

Posted May 10, 2012I use ANSI. The character load propetly on my home server. But load fails on my hosting's server. I tried UTF-8 without BOM but i can't make it to work. With UTF-8 my hosting's server could load the file but special characters missed the messages looks like this: Hell! Ez a teleklevds segdlet.
The massage in Languages.yml looks like this: Helló! Ez a teleklevédés segédlet.
I tryed to change special characters to their Unicode code point like in essentials but it didn't worked.
nate302 I pastebinbined my yml file in my last message but i copy here my last message.
I made a translete with some special characters whit these: (é, á, í, ú, ó, ü, ö)
But the translate can't load!
This is ther error: http://pastebin.com/wUXEt291
I tryed to load translate at on my home server and everything worked smoothly but when i paste it to my hosting's server i always get error. Pls help!
This is my translate: http://pastebin.com/vs5fFCsL
The only difference between my 2 server: I think the hosting run Linux i run Windows 7.

The YAML format is "supposed" to be UTF-8, but it doesn't seem to work in all cases.

Because the author of iConomy thought it would be funny to play an April Fools joke, Residence detects the "7.0" release as an incompatible version.
