Residence


About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

Your problem isn't related to Residence. Your Residence config, and your permissions are setup correctly. It is either an outdated Iconomy5, a buggy version of Iconomy6, or Iconomy is failing to load. Make sure you have a recent version of Vault, and one of these Iconomy releases:

I know some users were complaining that one of the recent builds of iCo6 was buggy, and that it was recommended to downgrade. You also may want to delete your server.log file. 2.5gbs is excessive for a log file.

The bukkit and residence versions are all the most current stable builds that have been released (1.2.5). The server log won't download from my host for some reason - maybe because it's 2.5 gigs. But looking through the log during a server restart, Residence is saying:
2012-05-09 19:30:58 [INFO] [Residence] UNKNOWN iConomy version! 2012-05-09 19:30:58 [INFO] [Residence] Unable to find an economy system...
even though Chestshop is recognizing iConomy 7. Residence version is 2.5.8 to be exact.

permissions group config, economy plugin name and version, a copy of your server.log, craftbukkit version, and Residence version.
to find out what versions of a plugin or craftbukkit you are running, simply type in the console:
/version

All of them. If I try to lease, it says renting is disabled, if I try to sell a property, it says economy is disabled, if I try to renew a lease it just gives me a general error message.

Posted May 9, 2012Hi, I am having a problem. I thought it had to do with the rent system, but apparently it's just the economy in general - whenever I try to issue any command that has to do with economy (rent, lease, etc) it gives me an error message. I have checked the config multiple times, everything says enabled... Someone tell me why it's not working?? Did I miss something??

Posted May 9, 2012@dockter look at it this way. This should clear up what smbarbour is trying to explain. The global flag protection wouldn't be apart of the main plugin. Instead you would have a seperate plugin that would take over that portion. Here's an example:
Residence, and Residence Addons
Addon examples: Signs, Global flags, etc
The idea is to be able to clean up the main plugin with residence 3. Currently there is a lot of unneeded code. Residence supports vault, but also currently has a listener for every major permissions and economy plugin out there. This isn't needed as that is vault's main purpose of being apart of the plugin. By stripping a lot of that away, you have less chances of something going wrong, and a cleaner plugin as a result.

Agreed, removing the global & world flags would be completely pointless, we actively use them.

Well if your going to ask me, i've heard that residence 3 would be awesome and so much more features but removing the world or global flag would just be ridiculous. Thats one of the features why residence is unique, you can set per world flags and removing this would set a lot of questions for several servers that uses residence.
An Add-On? the only best add-on residence had is the "Residence Sign", making another add-on just to support world or global flags would be a waste of time because first its its already one of the residence feature it self built-in.
I don't really see the purpose of removing world and global flags.

Residence is not meant to be a world management plugin and Residence 3 will not have World or Global flags. However... It will raise custom events for any event that would be handled by Residence (one event if the player is in a Residence and another if the player is not), so if someone else wished to make an add-on to handle world and global flags, they could.

The world pvp flag disables pvp across the entire world, and the way that splash potions are handled, if they obeyed the world flag, all splash potions would have no effect except within residences with pvp set true.

Posted May 7, 2012Okay, I'm having issues with potions like poison and harming potions. Event though the residence have the flag -pvp or the world have pvp:false, the poison and harming potions still damage the player. Im using v2.5.8 residence and the newly beta version of craftbukkit #2175.
Is there a potion flag? or any sort like that?
Edit: It seems that when making a world flag pvp:false the harming and poison potion can still harm the players but if its residences with the flag -pvp, its all fine. Maybe adding the potion on the config flag per world would fix this issue.
