Residence


About
Residence is different from most protection plugins in that it aims for the users to be able to protect their own homes without having to bother the admin to do it. Residence has support for a variety of different protection types including preventing movement through areas, all of which can be configured by the land owner, and limited by the admin.

Right now, there are only two permissions: residence.create and residence.admin
Those allowed to have residences should have residence.create, while those who are allowed to manage the entire residence system would have residence.admin

I will consider it. However, you should not set the price of air to 0, otherwise, someone could define a very large region just above the ground as a residence for free, then build into it.

Posted Apr 26, 2012Hello smbarbour! I have an idea for your plugin so do please hear me out. I love this plugin, it does everything I want but there is one extra little configuration I'm looking for.
Can you make the price of land for a given block dependent on the co-ordinates of that block?
In my upcoming server I want the price of land to decrease as the player walks away from spawn. The most premium land will be right around spawn and only the well-established players will be able to afford it. New players will have to venture out far from spawn to begin with until they have made some money with which to buy closer to spawn.
Here's some mathematics to explain my thoughts:
I'd love to see an option where the price of land is dependent on the variables x, y and z (x and z distances from spawn, y is the actual height) and can be determined by a formula like $=p/sqrt(x^2+z^2)*e^(k*(abs(64-y))) where p represents the price of the most expensive 1x1 block of land at (0,64,0) - say $100,000 - and k is some small constant (0<k<1) that affects the cost of land in relation to distance from sea level.
This formula determines the cost of every block defined within a rectangular cuboid and the cost to but the cuboid is the sum of the cost of the individual blocks. The cost of air blocks will always be 0 so that buying airspace isn't ridiculously expensive.
So can you do it?

Posted Apr 26, 2012pls help me with this plugin on my server. When i want /res create myhouse it don't working it write an internal error while attempting to perform this command. On console Unhandled exception executing ' res' in plugin Residence 2.5.8. Pls help me. I search this error on any forums but i don't know repair it.:(

Posted Apr 26, 2012Please HELP! Im using 1.2.5.8 but for some reason i can' t use the selection tool (wooded axe) I have tried changing it to something else it the config because im also using world edit.
When i right /left click with the specified selection tool nothing happens.
Any1 else having this problem?
oh btw im also running PEX and essentials.

You need to set the container flag to false in the residence for any groups that should not have access. This will restrict access to chests, double chests, furnaces, and dispensers.
Residence 3 should have a better system in place to be able to detect any other containers.

Loving your plug but I'm still having issues with preventing anyone from opening others' chests. I have a hotel and only the door denies entry, if the door is left open the chest can be accessed. Here is the scenario
Room1 For rent: Owner- Rsredmage
Room1: Rented by: Player A
If player A leaves their door open
Player B walks in and steals from Player A's house
Which part of the config am I supposed to have set to False to prevent this?

Posted Apr 25, 2012I tried installing this on my server, but I keep getting the error "An internal error occurred while trying to preform this command." This is what it said in the console "25.04 14:16:28 [Server] INFO org.bukkit.command.CommandException: Unhandled exception executing command 'res' in plugin Residence v2.4.2"
