This plugin is for giving players the option to rent or buy a region. It could be used to let them rent a jail in your Prison server or maybe a shop in the market of the Survival server. The player interacts with signs, making it easy to use. It also has a lot of commands to check the status of all regions, manage the renting and buying of a region and also features for admins. Also the plugin is capable of saving the region and restoring it later, this is very flexible and can be set general and per region, check the config for more information.
All features in a list:
- Rent and sell regions to players + Players can resell their bought regions to other players
- Signs for easy interacting and current status
- Change the language of the plugin or use of of the already provided language files (check here for supported languages, these are already packed with the plugin, just change the language setting in the config).
- Automatically let the plugin restore the region with schematics
- Change which commands players can use with permissions
- Customize the plugin by changing the config
- Automatically place the region name on the sign if it is placed inside a region
- Teleport to rent/buy regions and optionally set the teleport location (teleporting is safe and within the region)
- Adding friends to regions (which also can teleport then)
- Automatic unrent/sell for regions of which the owner is offline for a certain time
- Warning to players when their rent is about to run out (at login and while they are online)
- Group system to set options for a couple of regions instead of all of them.
- All heavy tasks are spread over time (each tick a part is executed until done), so the plugin should not cause any lag.
- Rent/buy limits can be different per permission node (player group), world or group of regions (possible situation: Normal players can buy 1 market region in survival + 1 build region in survival and 2 plots in creative, while VIPs have double limits for all those), check this example.
- Supports name changes because of saving player info by UUID, for more details check the FAQ entry: What happens when a player changes his name?
You need to have WorldEdit, WorldGuard and Vault installed on your server, WorldGuard is used for creating and managing regions, WorldEdit for the saving and restoring the blocks in regions and Vault is used to let players pay for the regions.

Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
A unique identifier, the server's version of Java, whether the server is in offline or online mode, the plugin's version, the server's version, the OS version/name and architecture, the core count for the CPU, the number of players online, the Metrics version.
This information will give me an indication about how much the plugin is used and encourages me to continue development. Opting out of this service can be done by setting 'sendStats' in the config of this plugin to 'false', if you want to disable Metrics for any plugin go to plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and change 'opt-out' to 'true'. Check graphs of the statistics at this page: mcstats.org/plugin/AreaShop
Do you want to translate AreaShop?
Help translating the plugin into different languages and to keep the translations up to date. Go to this page for more information. Translating goes through the Transifex website and is very easy, sending files back and forth is not needed, you can translate lines online and whenever you want. Every line you translate will be saved, no need to do it all at once (this also allows for easy collaboration).

Hello NoHoPeLess,
Couple of questions for you: Which version of AreaShop are you using? Is your server in offline mode or not?

By default only OPs can directly break a sign, the other players should get a message like 'You don't have permission to delete a sign.'. One way they could have broken the sign is by breaking the block below/behind the sign, which pops off the sign. So please check if players can break the blocks below/behind a sign, if you do have that then I recommend moving the sign or region boundaries.
Of course you can still do everything by the AreaShop commands (just point them to '/as', that will show all commands that player can use) but I understand that using the signs is easier. There is not much I can do about this problem, I can only detect it, preventing it would lead to floating signs and/or floating blocks, so that would not be so great.
@Xayges
I had this exact same problem when I switched my server to 1.8, this is a bug in WorldGuard, so if you update to the latest version of WorldGuard then this problem should be fixed. Let me know if that solves your problem.

Posted Mar 1, 2015Hi I need help quick. I recently updated to the newest version of areashop. Then a bug happened. For all of my plots, my players can't put any blocks at the lowest level (e.g. My plot is 10 blocks high, lowest level as in the level closest to floor). They can, however, put blocks at the margin of the lowest level. For example... (o = block)
oooo
oOOo
oOOo
oooo
That is a 4x4 blocks plot. At the lowest level, players can put blocks in the small o's, but not the large O's. On the second level though, they can put blocks anywhere. Please advice on how i can fix this.

Posted Mar 1, 2015Hello! I have an issue where players are deleting the AreaShop sign and then they don't know how to sell the property or replace the sign. Do you know of a way to make the AreaShop sign so only Ops can remove them? Thanks.

AreaShop is not integrated with LWC currently, but because I also had someone else ask about it a while ago I will add this to my TODO list and see what I can do. If/when I will work on that I will try to get a system going that supports adding other integrations easily, so that I can add support for more plugins if requested.

This is how the system works for all settings that can be changed in default.yml, as example I take the price: At first AreaShop checks if the setting is in the region file itself, if it finds the price there then it uses that. If it does not find it then it checks if the region has any groups assigned and checks if those groups have the price setting, if one of them does then it takes that price (group with the highest priority that has the price setting will be used). If there is no group with the price setting then it takes the price from the default.yml file.
The above is the situation for an individual setting like the price, but what you are talking about is a profile setting. Basically the same thing happen, it tries to get the assigned profile name first from the region file, then from possible groups, and then from the default.yml file. If AreaShop found the profile name (for example the name of a signProfile) then it uses all settings from that profile as defined in the config file (without falling back to the default profile or something like that).
Now about your problem, if the groups assigned to the rent region do not have a setting that specifies the 'schematicProfile' setting, then it uses the profile as listed in the 'default.yml' file (so that normally is the 'default' schematicprofile). If it does not generate the schematic then check if schematic creation is enabled in the config, default.yml and that you do not have the 'enableRestore' setting set to false in one of the groups.
Let me know if that helps you with your problem.

Posted Feb 24, 2015Are all the Default actions settings in all sections of the config.yml file getting applied to all of my groups when there are no custom group setting overriding the default? The reason I ask is that I noticed that when a room that is assigned to a group is rented, a schematic is not being created at the time that room is being rented.

You are right that it does not save the region file, I fixed that now. Changing something else about the region after it would at least mark it as 'to be saved' (for example using '/as setprice' twice or something like that).
@XgenDaNcEs
You can set the priority of the big region to -1 to fix it, set the priorities of the AreaShop regions to 1 or higher or set the big region as parent of all of the AreaShop regions as suggested by Androkai. I think the first option is the easiest one, that requires only 1 command instead of 1 per region.

Sounds like you missed using:
/rg setparent <hotelroom-region> <main-region>
Edit: check this for "Inheritance"

Posted Feb 23, 2015I have a little problem with placing / breaking in the regions set up for rent. I set my entire map as a region so players cant build in it and set some hotel rooms as a region to rent. How can i make it where players who rented a region can build in it but cannot build in the main map?
Sorry if this was answered a million times, im new to using WorldGuard ^-^

Posted Feb 23, 2015If I use "/as setowner" command and a buyer already exists in the region-data the new owner is not saved to this data. After a AreaShop reload the old owner is restored.
Edit: It's more badass: If a data already exists, setowner doesn´t save to data. ;.(

I kinda figured that it could be done but this is a lot more complex than I had emagined. I'll have to study this for a few to figure out what this is doing. You can find me on Skype using my handle AncientTom.

Yes: '/as rent [region]'
@AncientTom
Ah okey, you can do that with the 'eventCommandProfiles' section, first create 2 regions and add them to AreaShop, one for the upper part and one for the lower part. I recommend using a clever naming scheme, 'shop1' for the upper part 'shop1lower' for the lower part for example (the region of the upper part should be somewhere in the lower part regionname). Set the price of all lower regions to 0. And then you add all lower part regions to a group called 'notavailable', then you add a limitGroup to the config which has a group section that contains the 'notavailable' group and has all limits set to 0. Then you assign all players this limitgroup by using the correct permission, now nobody should be able to directly rent the lower regions, but the above ones should still be available. After that you add all upper part regions to a group and set them to the eventCommandProfile 'doubleregion', then you add this profile in the config.yml in the 'eventCommandProfiles' section:
This would automatically assign the lower region to the player that bought/rented the upper region, and if they sell/unrent the upper region it also removes them from the lower region.
If you have any trouble with it just send me a message, if you have a teamspeak server then I could also join that (or we could use Skype).

What I need is to be able to rent a shop where the renter will rent the shop at street level but he will also have a second region assigned to him where he can hang sale item signs and item frames on a wall in an underground mining area. These two regions are not attached or overlapping. I also would like to consider using VariableTriggers to be able to handle the sales and renting from the command line.

Technically a shop can only have 1 WorldGuard region, but you might be able to use the 'eventCommandProfiles' section in the config to assign the buyer of a region an extra region. Are you sure though that you actually need multiple regions? Because WorldGuard also has polygon regions (sel poly) and those are a bit more flexible.
If you can tell me what kind of shop thing you want to create then I might be able to come up with a better solution to your problem.
