This plugin is for giving players the option to rent or buy a region. It could be used to let them rent a jail in your Prison server or maybe a shop in the market of the Survival server. The player interacts with signs, making it easy to use. It also has a lot of commands to check the status of all regions, manage the renting and buying of a region and also features for admins. Also the plugin is capable of saving the region and restoring it later, this is very flexible and can be set general and per region, check the config for more information.
All features in a list:
- Rent and sell regions to players + Players can resell their bought regions to other players
- Signs for easy interacting and current status
- Change the language of the plugin or use of of the already provided language files (check here for supported languages, these are already packed with the plugin, just change the language setting in the config).
- Automatically let the plugin restore the region with schematics
- Change which commands players can use with permissions
- Customize the plugin by changing the config
- Automatically place the region name on the sign if it is placed inside a region
- Teleport to rent/buy regions and optionally set the teleport location (teleporting is safe and within the region)
- Adding friends to regions (which also can teleport then)
- Automatic unrent/sell for regions of which the owner is offline for a certain time
- Warning to players when their rent is about to run out (at login and while they are online)
- Group system to set options for a couple of regions instead of all of them.
- All heavy tasks are spread over time (each tick a part is executed until done), so the plugin should not cause any lag.
- Rent/buy limits can be different per permission node (player group), world or group of regions (possible situation: Normal players can buy 1 market region in survival + 1 build region in survival and 2 plots in creative, while VIPs have double limits for all those), check this example.
- Supports name changes because of saving player info by UUID, for more details check the FAQ entry: What happens when a player changes his name?
You need to have WorldEdit, WorldGuard and Vault installed on your server, WorldGuard is used for creating and managing regions, WorldEdit for the saving and restoring the blocks in regions and Vault is used to let players pay for the regions.
Preview
For a preview join 'mc.go-craft.com' and go to the Survival server, the shops around the spawn use AreaShop.

Requirements and installing
Requirements:
- Server software: Bukkit 1.7.9 or higher, Spigot 1.7.9+ or higher
- Java 7 or higher (latest recommended)
- WorldGuard 5.9 or higher (6.0+ recommended)
- WorldEdit 5.6.3 or higher (6.0+ recommended)
- Vault 1.4.1 or higher
- An economy plugin supported by Vault (check the Vault page for a list of supported plugins)
When you have installed AreaShop, have correct server software and all required plugins installed (and the correct versions of them) you can startup your server. After that you can edit the config.yml and default.yml file of AreaShop to your liking and after that you use '/as reload' to reload the configs. Then you can start by setting up regions and adding them to AreaShop.
Notification for new versions
To enable email notifications for new versions of this plugin follow these steps:
- Login to dev.bukkit.org
- Go to the 'Subscriptions' tab Link
- Tick the checkbox for 'File updates'
- Confirm your choice
Metrics
This plugin utilizes Hidendra's plugin metrics system, which means that the following information is collected and sent to mcstats.org:
A unique identifier, the server's version of Java, whether the server is in offline or online mode, the plugin's version, the server's version, the OS version/name and architecture, the core count for the CPU, the number of players online, the Metrics version.
This information will give me an indication about how much the plugin is used and encourages me to continue development. Opting out of this service can be done by setting 'sendStats' in the config of this plugin to 'false', if you want to disable Metrics for any plugin go to plugins/Plugin Metrics/config.yml and change 'opt-out' to 'true'. Translating goes through the Transifex website and is very easy, sending files back and forth is not needed, you can translate lines online and whenever you want. Every line you translate will be saved, no need to do it all at once (this also allows for easy collaboration).

I missed a reply on the ticket, sorry, I answered it there now.
What do you mean it wraps it? The %lang:prefix% will be replaced with the prefix you defined at the top of the config file (normally the %lang:<something>% things are language strings, but prefix is a special case).

I have this same issue commented in a ticket I submitted on another issue. I think you have a type-o in your jar file that wraps the %lang:prefix% with "&2["..."] ". I am submitting another ticket on this issue.

AreaShop only retrieves the latest version from BukkitDev when the plugin is loaded (server start or reload), so if you have not restarted/reloaded your server yet then you will keep getting the old message when you login. So you were simply too fast with updating :)

The 'flagProfiles' section in the config.yml file determines how the greeting messages look like. The default settings is this: '%lang:prefix%%lang:greeting-forrent%', the first part is inserting the [AreaShop] prefix (the one defined at the top of the config) and the latter part is the string from the language file. So if you change the greeting there then the prefix should be gone.

"&G[AreaShop] %region% can be rented for %price% per %duration%
%region% is replaced with the right region name. %price% is replaced with the right region price. %duration% is replaced with the right region price.
Inside the greeting section of the EN.yml it looks like this. greeting-forrent: "%region% can be rented for %price% per %duration%"
I don't get why the &G[AreaShop] is appearing.

The plugin is the best, even thou we had a problem getting it onto the server.But as the server had a problem with the plugin, nlthijs48 helped us with the problem. (Not many owners help with the problem). And once again thanks for helping us with that problem. On the other hand the plugin is always updating as the last update was so if the people change their names on the server, the owner updated it so you don't have to do it manually. But the plugin is really easy to set up and there is no lag at all when using this plugin. But like other plugins this does not take that much of your time to know all the commands to set it up, as there is help on the website and even a help when you login to minecraft and type /as help it tells you what commands there is and what they do. In my opinion this is one of the best plugins as you get help when the need it from the developer(if you type a comment below), its very easy to set up and its fast without a doubt. All you need are the plugins the owner has said on the website. And there you go.. On to develop your server...

It is using the Curse API (Curse are the guys hosting this website) and I heard it can take a few hours before that API returns the same results as displayed on the page here. So for now just ignore it, but if it still happens after 24 hours then there may actually be something wrong.
Thanks for the heads up anyway, this could have been a problem on my end of course.
Edit: Currently my local server is already saying that 2.1.5 is the latest version, so the API has updated.

I uploaded AreaShop V2.1.5, check the changelog to see what changed.
One important thing is that this version automatically updates regions when it detects that a player changed his name (when a players logs in AreaShop will check it). So now it is not necessary anymore to update regions manually with a command. Check the updated FAQ item about it.

Integration with DynMap has already been suggested before, and it is already on my TODO list. It is however not something with a very high priority, but if I have time I want to check it out for sure. There is already support in DynMap to show WorldGuard regions (I think you need a plugin for it, might be wrong about that) so that already show some information about it (should show members/owners already). Of course actual DynMap support is better because then all AreaShop information could also be shown (basically everything from '/as info region [region]', the same as leftclicking a sign displays).

With the default settings AreaShop is not supposed to clear the region, but if you want that you can enable it in the settings, check the Schematics page for an explaination about how to do that.

Unfortunate that it is not working as you want yet, but we might be able to get it correct together. I think it would be best if you send all details about the problem in a PM. Try to describe what you would like to achieve in that message just like the example. Also include your current limitGroups section in the config file, your groups setup (just put the contents of groups.yml at pastebin.com) and a description of which permissions you gave certain groups (or a copy of your permissions file). Then I should be able to help you solving the problem.

Posted Feb 10, 2015Hi there. I am still having huge problems creating my setup the way I want it to be.
Unlike your example, I am not using a different world for my mall. Further I would like to expand these limits over different regions.
I have tried to duplicate your system with groups, I can't find the correct relation to put them to each other.
Might be it's me standing in front of a wall, missing the right solution or it's just not working the way I understand it.

Posted Feb 8, 2015Any possibility that this could work with Dynmap? For example, mark the location on the map of [rent] or [sell] properties. I like players to be as self sufficient as possible and sending them to the map to find a place is a very helpful thing.
