ReCrafty

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Minecraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This mod (JMaxchill's ReCrafty) allows you to turn blocks and items into the materials you craft them from. It is intended to allow players to change mistakenly crafted items (such as diamond picks or iron pressure plates) into their constituent parts (such as diamonds or iron) following a small penalty*. Where multiple materials are used, only the most costly ingredient will be returned.

  1. Craft too many items
  2. Put 1 in the centre of the crafting bench
  3. Surround it in the penalty*
  4. Take the product!

The mod is intended to provide players with a "safety net" to guard against small mistakes, and to allow them to save storage space by converting unnecessary items to raw materials, which can then be used for more useful purposes. It is not intended to allow infinite XP farming by converting mined or smelted items into a minable or smeltable form.

  • The penalty is that enough other ingredients must be added, so to return a diamond pick into diamonds, it would have to be surrounded in diamonds - 11 would be returned.
