Posted Oct 2, 2013Hello!
By trial and error, and reading back comments and forum, I was able to config something which might work. The goal is to get out 2 recipes for one item, and put in a new recipe for it. This is the current config:
All seems to be all right:
But I still can craft by the old recipes, and still can't craft the new ones. The same with the inventory recipe helper NotEnoughItems 1.5.2.28

I was able to make alternative crafting recipes for some custom modded items. As long as you know the item id and data value, and how to use those in the recipe format it should work.
@HammerHedd
I didn't even know about CraftBook, but it looks like it adds custom recipes dynamically in-game as well. CraftBook might be ignoring the recipes you're making, but if you've got something like that I'm not sure why you need RecipeManager, except for fuel recipes or maybe slightly more customization.

Strangely, still no luck with crafting (anything). I'm combing through the permissions right now... Is there any chance that this conflicts with craftbook?

Posted Sep 20, 2013I found an inconsistency between this plugin and "Noitems" and exploit "Shift + click".
1) I deny that a player can cook potatoes with the plugin Noitem
2) If only is installed the plugin Noitems, works perfect, does not let me cook potatoes, or dragging the potato to the slot of oven, or by pressing "Shift + click" on the potato to be added automatically .
3) If I install the plugin RecipeManager with Noitem, when I try to cook a potato, dragging it to the slot of the oven, works well, does not let me cook. But if I press the "Shift + click", the potato is added automatically to the oven, skipping the prohibition of Noitem.
If only installing Noitem works well, if I add RecipeManager I have this exploit.
You can review that happens?.
I tried other plugins of custom recipes such as Craftbook, and in these works well, but I like more your plugin and do not want to stop using it.
A greeting.

Well the recipe result is your problem. Unless you made an alias (I.E. an alternate name) for WEB to be called cobweb then that name doesn't exist.
When you want to create a specific item, try looking it up in the wiki first. There in the bottom of its little table where it says type, physics, best tool to harvest with etc, is the data value for that item. For example, Cobweb on the minecraft wiki is the data value 30. If you look up that data value in the name index html page provided by the plugin author, the name for cobweb is WEB, but you can just say this:
Also, you're trying to say "make one cobweb out of this" but the value after the item name is the visual effect value not the item count. If you wanted to say that, you would do:
because cobweb has only one type data value. But, the recipe above works just fine because you don't need to specify visual effect or item count if you just want one.

Posted Sep 15, 2013Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong here:
craft
string + air + string
air + string + air
string + air + string
= cobweb:1
should make a cobweb, right? Am I naming something wrong?

You really aren't far off. Let me help you out there...
The problem with the overrides is that you weren't really using them to change the recipe. An @override should be used to change the output of a specific craft recipe if it already exists in minecraft. In your case you were using @override the right way on the recipe input, but then your recipe didn't change the output so it essentially did nothing. I tested these with my server, so they will convert back and forth as you want them to.
About the fuels... it seems like because charcoal is using the same material value as coal if you change the fuel time of coal it changes charcoal's fuel time, and changing charcoal's fuel time does nothing. I have not been able to separate coal and charcoal fuel time, you may wish to use another item than charcoal as the "Coal Chunk" item, perhaps coal ore?
However, I am using your fuel recipe for coal_block % 8000 and it's working just fine. Perhaps because you were using that invalid charcoal fuel recipe previously it didn't work. Try separating the coal_block fuel recipe from your other fuel recipes.

Sorry for the delay, by config(s) I assume you meant the recipe files? I'll go with that. This is what I have before reading anything in your post, I'll wait and see what you have to say on these and then give your suggestions a try. I am aware I probably have unneeded code in the recipe, I just kinda muddled through it till it basically did what I wanted.

h0us3cat It looks like you got an error because your version is out of date. The code you're using is different from the one on the github repo right now, and the place the error originated should be fixed by code there already. If you're using the most up to date version you may want to try grabbing the github jar file yourself.
edit: In fact, an update applied three months ago to the file where you are having the error is meant to deal with the exact error you are experiencing. I recommend updating to 2.0, not beta or alpha.
