Realistic Backpacks
Realistic Backpacks is a plugin not similar to the other backpack/inventory extending plugins, but a unique experience. Backpacks are represented by a configurable item, not virtual commands. They also will give realistic features of what a backpack would give upon a user in real life, including slowed movement, increased need for hunger, and others. Of course, all of these features are customizable and can be turned off. If you just want backpacks that are opened via items and not commands and nothing else, then this plugin is also for you.
Features:
- Full customization of almost all features
- Lightweight as possible
- Flatfile and MySQL support
- Backpacks are items, not virtual commands
- Supports economies, and can purchase backpacks via commands
- Create multiple backpacks
- Custom recipes for backpacks
- Customize the names, lore, and item for backpacks
- Option to use a whitelist/blacklist for items with backpacks
- Backpacks can slow your movement speed
- Backpacks can increase hunger/decrease the amount of hunger food gives
- Full customization on what to do with backpack on death
- Admin friendly

What do you mean by that? I can make multiple backpacks where the white list is working on both of them and other where its disabled.
So I don't have any bugs right now.

Ah, thanks.
Edit: Seems like the whitelist for the other packs in the same config are not working. Tried tinkering around for a solution, but I can't figure it out.

Posted Nov 8, 2013I made a fork and I tought I pushed it to Github but clearly it didn't There was a bug in your whitelist/blacklist. It prevented named items to be placed in the backpacks if you only allowed certain items.
For Example I whitelist a diamond SWORD, but if I rename my sword it can't be placed inside the chest anymore.
So it only needs to check on item type to avoid blocking renamed items.
I send a pull request :)

You didn't put the exact name of the backpack in the blacklist. It's cap sensitive.

Moving them in/out of chest, enderchest seems to clear the glow for me randomly.

Is there not a specific event that causes it to stop glowing?

Posted Nov 3, 2013There is a huge incompatibility with the dtlTraders plugin people should know about.
If you right-click a trader npc with a backpack, close the inventory that opens, then right click the trader one more time with the backpack- the backpack will then dupe the trader's entire inventory. This replaces every slot of the backpack with the trader's inventory.

Posted Oct 24, 2013Any change of getting a new item added that represents the backpack? Reusing an existing item is confusing to users.
Otherwise we love the plugin.

Make sure you have the use whitelist option set to true and that your config is parsed correctly. Pastebin a link to your config and I'm sure someone will check it for you

Posted Oct 18, 2013Hey this plugin is pretty cool, do you think you can add a feature to the item whitelist for not just items ids, but such as item with certain lores and names?
