RConPlus
RConPlus
Introduction
This mod is basically an improvement to the rcon feature of the Minecraft Server. Instead of using some complicated protocol, you can simply connect using Telnet or some other program with port 6394(config.yml), type the password, and start typing. Also, you can see all log entries after the connection.
I can't type stop!
Before you ask me to remove that filter, imagine that someone was spamming chat. You type "Stop spamming chat!", only to find out that you forgot to add "say", and you can't restart the server because you are off on a trip. You can spend all day trying to forward port 22 to the server on your router. Unless there is someone who knows your overly long router password, you won't be able to start it up again until you get home.
Client closes on the first command?
That's because the first thing you have to type is the password, in config.yml. If you type anything else, the connection will be closed.

Posted Apr 15, 2013the problem i had with rconplus is that, if there's any activities in console/chat etc. it will simply break the command youre typing. that is really a problem to me especially when lot of player in-game, you simply cant work from consoles due to incorrect command.

Posted Mar 31, 2013If I am reading this description right, this plugin uses Telnet. The problem with that is telnet is completely insecure, it transmits everything in plaintext. That means that anyone can intercept the commands you send to the server, including the password! Is there something I am missing, or is this plugin actually using telnet?

Posted Feb 26, 2013Thanks monster860. Can you possibly get it to work with telnet because RAW has no formatting whatsoever.

I think it would work better if you used raw mode in PuTTY... I tested it in PuTTY...

Posted Feb 24, 2013Hey, where is the source? I would like to add some messages when someone connects, but I can't find the source. I assume that is open source, since you have selected an GPLv2 Licence for it.
Also, you say that this works with a telnet client, but it doesn't. I'm using RAW mode for it.
