RankSigns
Description:
RankSigns is a rank up plugin in which you can rank up or buy permission nodes via signs. It also uses economy to rank up or buy permissions. All you have to do is set up a simple RankSigns sign. This plugin requires Vault and a permissions and economy plugin that supports Vault. This plugin has many more features to add. If you have a suggestion, let me know. Setting up a RankSigns sign:
Making the signs can be confusing. Please take a look at the image at the top right corner of the page if you are having problems.
- Line 1: [RankSign] OR [PermSign] OR whatever you have specified in the config
- Line 2: The Rank or Permission node that is being sold
- Line 3: Price (This can also be set to free, or left blank if you set the currency to none)
- Line 4: Unused, but maybe time?
Config:
- currency: Can be set to none (allowing line 3 to be blank) or money
- Shorter Permissions: With this feature in the config, you can have a permission node that doesn't fit on a sign renamed to something that will fit on the sign. An example is already available in the config. You can do as many as you want and even rename permissions that already do fit on the sign. With this feature, the permission in permsign.buyperm.[permission] will not be the shorter version, it will be the actual permission node. This new feature can be confusing, so if you need help I will be glad to help!
- Sign Headers: Edit the first line which indicates a rank/perm sign
Permissions:
- ranksign.buyrank: Gives permission to buy all permissions
- ranksign.buyrank.[rank]: Gives permission to buy a rank from a RankSign
- permsign.buyperm: Gives permission to buy all permissions
- permsign.buyperm.[permission]: Gives permission to buy a perm from a PermSign
- ranksign.create: Gives permission to create RankSigns
- permsign.create: Gives permission to create PermSigns
Commands:
- /ranksigns: Shows version of plugin and what you can do based on your permissions.

Never had a plugin with so many errors. Is there an error when you start your server by any chance? Let me test it with the beta build real quick. EDIT: I wish i could help but I can't get the plugin to break for me :( . Maybe the next version being approved won't have a problem, but otherwise I don't know what to do if there is no error or anything.

Posted Apr 6, 2013Hey! I'm using a item-based economy, so would it be possible to add something so instead of price on line three, you do item:(item id), and then on line 4 you do the amount. i.e.
so this would allow the play to buy the rank "Pro" for 64 emeralds. Is this possible?

Thanks Bballheat, I wasn't considering that my java could be out of date. I haven't run into a problem like this before so I assumed it could of just been my version wasn't in sync with the plugin's. I appreciate the info, I will update my java and see how it goes.

Ah so you're using the beta build? Perhaps I need to update the plugin to the beta build! First, I will update to the beta build on my server and see if it works. EDIT: Still works with beta build for me. I read that it might be something with your java version. I suggest doing more research, but I think you need to update your java.

Posted Apr 5, 2013This plugin is exactly what I've been looking for, but there seems to be a problem. My server is running the newest version of craftbukkit, but whenever I try to run this plugin on my server, It tells me its an "unsupported version." Any ideas why? Here is the error...

Yup this is a bug on my part! I will fix it as soon as possible! EDIT: Wow. Checked my code and I completely forgot to add economy. Fixed and getting it approved, which could take a while!

Seems like I'm having a problem... Each sign assigns the rank perfectly, but for some reason, it doesn't charge the player for the amount on the sign.
Any ideas?

Posted Apr 4, 2013Can you do so people can't downgrade when you have bought a rank, so you can't go from Rank 9 to Rank 3 for example, is there a chance you can do that? :)
