Rank Viewer
Dependencies
- DiscordSRV (Optional)
- PermissionsEX or LuckPerms (Required)
- RankViewer v2.2 and above supports LuckPerms 5.0.63 and above, for RankViewer v2.1 and below use LuckPerms 4.453 and below
- EssentialsX (Required)
Features
This plugin allows users to display ranks as a hoverable tag like this: [R] in order to see their respective ranks or you can display the top weighted rank with other ranks displayed when hovered. It has integration with the discord API (DiscordSRV), ensuring there is no disruption with the messages sent to the discord server. Note that this requires the DiscordSRV plugin, which is automatically detected by RankViewer.
The plugin supports users having multiple ranks, and can display them all in the hoverable tab. If you are using PermissionsEx the order in which they are listed matches that of the permissions.yml file. If you are using LuckPerms then the order is dictated by assigned order.
Allows all colour codes and text changes such as italics, bold, obfuscation, etc. Currently only works with PermissionsEx and LuckPerms, however support of other rank plugins will be made available in future updates.
If you have a suggestion for a feature to be added, drop a comment below and ill have a look into it

Hi,
Thanks for letting me know about this. There should be a full stack trace that comes after the "Could not pass event AsyncPlayerChatevent", i need this in order to locate which part of the plugin is having issues, could you paste that in a comment please?
I have some general plugin work to do this weekend so ill hopefully get this fixed then.
Cheers,

Hi,
My first question would be, have you got the weightings set up properly for your ranks, such that they order in importance? Generally, when ranks don't appear its because they overlap with their weightings.
This is a good habit to get into anyway with ranks, having ordering by inheritance or implicit importance.
Let me know how that goes.

RankViewer uses the ranks from permissions plugins, either PermissionsEX or LuckPerms. You need to have one of those two plugins installed for this plugin to work with it, the description states that they are dependancies:
Once you install one of those two plugins, set up your ranks and permissions according to the way you want, then reload the server with RankViewer installed and it will be able to access those ranks assigned to users. If you want to add more ranks to your server, you need to do it through those plugins.
This wiki article is about adding ranks and permissions with PermissionsEX:

This wiki article is about adding ranks and permissions with LuckPerms (commands):

Hmm, ok. I think i may have an idea as to what is happening, but to confirm if its true there something i'd like you to do:
- Create or use another rank, for example "moderator" (make sure it has a prefix)
- Add that rank to your account, so you now have two ranks (for example owner and moderator)
- type something in chat and see if the ranks show up in the tab
