What is RacesAndClasses?
RacesAndClasses (RaC) was made to bring the best RPG experience to Minecraft servers. You are able to customize your own classes and races, making your server a world full of adventure! RaC is inspired by the biggest MMORPG game in the world, known as World Of Warcraft.

Plugins with RaC
RaC works with almost any plugin! Mcmmo, heroes, faction and towny. These are the most commonly used plugins for this plugin and they all work 100%
RaC offers plenty of configuration, for each individual server. For example some server owners love the teleport arrow for raiding, and some don't; so It's all up to you.
Developers guide
RaC is as mentioned, a customizable plugin, that also counts for custom traits.
This means, that any developer can make their own traits and make his/her server even more special!

Important notices
First of all: All these components can be disabled in the config!
Gravity's Updater:
For legal reasons and for uploading this plugin to Bukkit I have to mention, that the plugin has an updating service which connects to 'http://www.curseforge.com/'. This includes:
- Checking the Version of the plugin against the newest release Version.
- Downloading the newest Version if enabled.
Error Uploader:
Also the Plugin uses an Error Uploding Service, which connects to my Domain: www.tobiyas.tk.
This includes:
- Reading Errors from the error.log located at plugins/RacesAndClasses/debug/error.log
- Uploading these errors to my domain (www.tobiyas.tk)
- The Errors are visibly ONLY to me (Tobiyas) and are regularly checked to find and fix bugs faster than via Tickets.
Hidendra's Metrics:
The plugin uses Hidendra's Metrics service and sends Metrics data of your Server to the Metrics at 'http://mcstats.org/'. This includes:
- A unique identifier
- The server's version of Java
- Whether the server is in offline or online mode
- The plugin's version
- The server's version
- The OS version/name and architecture
- The core count for the CPU
- The number of players online
- The Metrics version
All these services are optional and can be disabled via Configuration.
UPDATING From 1.1.6 AND OLDER VERSION
If you use the config.raceMaxHealth: ... of a race, this has been removed with 1.1.7.
You now have to use config.healthbonus: ... (as in classes) instead.
You get 20 base health + race healthbonus + class health bonus.
UPDATING FROM 1.0.3 AND OLDER VERSION
If you use
general_saving_savePlayerDataToDB: true
Set this option to false and do a restart with the old Version. For best Use with 1.0.3 (RC 2)! This will convert all File DB related Data to YML data. If you do NOT do this, your PlayerData will be LOST!!!
If you have
general_saving_savePlayerDataToDB: false
you can safely ignore this step.
Known Bugs for Current Version (1.2.0)
Only runs on Bukkit distros using Spigot API (spigot, paper, ...).

You are trying to run RaC 1.1.1 on a 1.8 server. Update your RaC
You're also missing the plugin called "Vault", you need it.

You can go into the log files on your server's FTP and copy paste from that. That stores everything that your server prints to console

2. Check for a debug file on your server, or for errors in console. No one can do anything, without more information other than "it doesn't work." What version are you running, what version is your server, etc;

Posted Mar 5, 2015Hi sakura_blades! Awesome plugin, I have always searched for a fully customizable Race and class plugin, and this is perfect. I love the guy menu too. There is one small problem though, i gave each of my players every permission they need to choose races but when they open the GUi menu where there is el and orc race (default) and when they click the book and quill, left or right click, it doesn't work. I tried it to, (i'm op and owner rank) but nothing happens when i left click, so i tried right clicking, but nothing happened either. I think its a bug, not sure but can you somehow try to fix it? I'm running a pop server and it would be awesome if you could fix this error for me.

Setup another system to apply the Race/Class to your players, and in it the permissions as well. My players don't use commands, or the RaC GUI to select their Race/Classes. Instead I have a menu open through something like bossshop, which runs a force command for each, and then the commands to give the permissions they need.
Considering RaC only works with "Parent" permissions, this is the only alternative you have to make them sub groups, unless you do it all by hand. Which I'd advise against..
@klartofle Just open the file "debug.log" or whatever it is called, copy everything in that file, and paste it onto the screen of pastebin.com. Name it and save it, and post the link here... You're not uploading the file anywhere, and you're not sending it. You just copy pasting, as if you were doing it right here in comments. The only difference is, you're not cluttering up the comments with the paste by using a pastebin link.. x.x

I have no idea what book and quills have to do with anything, I don't believe that's anything to do with RaC at all.
And what do you mean it won't let you select "my races"? Did you create some, or are you using the default provided ones?

Posted Mar 5, 2015Am experiencing the issue of permissions not being picked up, resulting in not being put into the race it should, causing spam of three "[PRIVATE-INFO]: You have no selected a race." messages.Here is my Config file, as setup:

Permission plugin is GroupManager "v2.1.31 (Phoenix)" (the md5 release, which has given no problems)Permission I've added to the World groups file (under a group, which I'm added to): rac.races.elf
Note: In the Race yml I fixed "Elv" to be "Elf", and otherwise copied the exact example permission from the config file. I even tried with "race" not being pluralized.
Am REALLY hoping to use this, as it'll replace a couple plugins, one of which is very very old!

EDIT2: Seems as though I may have misunderstood how permissions are handled in the plugin, or to be exactly, what having a certain permission provides a person in RaC :\
That being said, is it at all possible to setup a permission system, something like rac.auto.<race>.[class] where any player that is assigned that permission (either directly, or through the group they are in which has it), will then be assigned that race, and optional class?
Reason why is I already have an established system sooooorta like that, just not really lol Anyways point is, I can't have players selecting what race and class they want on top of the "parent" they already have (it's a Greek/Roman demigod server). Also, doing it this way would prevent the players from having to do anything additional. :)

You need to get the plugin working correctly on your server, or it may not work at all for you. Downloading someone else's files, isn't promised to work as there is evidently something preventing it from functioning properly in the first place...
As far as "moving files to debug" I didn't say that at all..
Open up the debug file.. Copy and Paste what is written inside to a Pastebin and link it here.

I have deleted all the files multiple time and tried many versions I always only get the debug folder, and what is that you mean by moving the files into the Debug file because there are no others than the RacesAndClasses.jar and I cant see how that would need to go into the Debug. im currently using version 1.1.2 as that is the only one that shows up in the cmd.exe that actually enables. would it be possible to just download the configure.yml files from a dropbox or mediafire link or would that not work correctly?

I would probably check the version that says 1.8 >.> Delete the folders and all files from RaC, and try a fresh install.
If that doesn't work, paste what does generate in the debug file if that's all you get again.
