QwickTree
QwickTree v 2.2.4
What Is QwickTree?
QwickTree is a permission supporting plugin that will harvest the whole tree when the bottom block it destroyed with specific tools (see the default config)
Features
- Harvests the whole tree when the bottom block of the tree is destroyed with config definable items (stone axes or better, by default);
- Checks within a certain area of the tree for common "house" blocks - so your log cabin can stay standing! Can be changed in the config. NOTE: This will not stop them from destroying the tree, but it will stop the player from harvesting the whole tree.
- Replants Sapling when the tree is chopped down - replants all 4 sapling in large Jungle trees!
- Permissions support. Permissions can also be disabled in the config.
- Now supports protect regions. (Only tested with WorldGuard so far)
- Ability to Disable & Enable the plugin in-game all users, or individual users without needing to reboot the server or mess with permissions.
- Drop vines when they are attached to or near the tree.
- Bottom level of leaves are not destroyed on Jungle trees only.
- Tree Specific drops, e.g. Only Oak Trees drop apples.
- Ability to stop QwickTree from chopping down tree types.
- Damage support for the entire tree - so chopping down a Jungle tree won't act like you only hit one block! All items that take damage will be damaged - even a bow or golden helmet!
- Maximum size limit for a tree. Your sacred 10,000 block tree is safe from vandals.
- Logging in grief-logging plugins - so you can see who chopped down the tree. (Only specific plugins supported so far, see below for details)
Plugin Support
Currently, QT supports most protection plugins and the following:
Anti-Grief/Logging

Posted Aug 9, 2012I couldn't find an answer, and I'm not too good with this stuff: is there a way to disable leaf and sapling drops altogether, for all types of trees? I just want trunks falling down, for clarification. Ideally, I'd have 0 leaf drops and maybe 2 saplings.

Yes, in the config, there's a value called "usePerms"
If you are using a permissions plugin, e.g. PermissionsEx, GroupManager etc, then I suggest setting this to true, and giving the groups that you want to be able to chop the trees the "QwickTree.use" permission node.
If not, set "usePerms" to false, and it should work for all players upon a reboot.

Posted Aug 9, 2012Hello, I installed this plugin on my server and it is only working for ops. I saw there was a ticket about this, but it says resolved, so I'm confused at why it is not working. Any help would be much appreciated and keep up the good work!

Oh, that's strange. Any server side mods that might be altering data values or names?
Also try running it with the debugger enabled, and have a look at the data values you get returned.

Posted Aug 7, 2012Ok test results are in: I changed my sapling drop rate to an integer and the oak trees still seem to be exploding in saplings. Will test by turning sapling drops off.
EDIT: Sorry, it was the language pack that was changing it - Australian english changes Oak to Eucalyptus.

Posted Aug 7, 2012Hmm.. I'm not sure if I'm using invalid syntax. This is my config:
leafDrops: - 6,6.25 OakDrops: - 260,0.5
6.25% is the default drop rate of decaying leaves according to minecraft wiki. When I cut down an oak tree, it explodes into a shower of saplings :/
But when I cut down a pine tree it seems to drop at the normal rate. Odd.. will post back after testing with other trees.

Ah good, let me know if you run into any problems.
@deleted_148960
Those numbers are the chances that the item is dropped, so there is a 20% chance to drop sapling, and a 10% it'll drop leaves.
The chances are calculated again for each leaf, so it don't expect that 20% of the tree will drop sapling, it'll change each time.

I have been testing this plugin with 1.3.1, and it doesn't seem to work. I do have a version which I'm working on, but it's not in a usable state, I'm assuming because of Bukkit (the release works perfectly on 1.2.5)
I have started to speak to some Bukkit staff about this issue, so I can overcome it and hopefully get a release out. Meanwhile, people are unlikely to see any releases from this plugin.
My apologies, and thank you for understanding.

I'm not so sure that this kind of feature is supported without client side mods, but I will certainly have a look to see if it is.

Posted Jul 25, 2012Well, if you hit a log with an axe x number of times, the log breaks and the tree falls. But if you make x something like 30 instead of 5, it'd take a similar amount of time to chop down the tree as if you were doing so normally, but you just do the bottom block. It's kind of like the difference between using a pickaxe on stone and obsidian, in how it takes longer to harvest.

Posted Jul 24, 2012Sorry I've taken so long to reply.
@darclyne
What do you mean by that? I could add in a feature for it to reduce durability for each log broken, e.g. 2 logs reduces durability by one.
Another option I have for bigger trees is that more than one ground level log is required to be destroyed in order for the tree to be chopped.
@PandaPuu
I'm afraid that isn't specific enough for me to be able to find any problems. I am aware of a few bugs with this plugin, and I am working to try and fix it. You can view all of the bugs reports at http:dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/qwicktree/tickets/?type=d
If you're problem relates to any of these, then you can post a comment or upvote the bug, otherwise, I ask you to create a ticket rather than filling up the comments section.

Posted Jul 22, 2012We've been running this on our server for a while, and it's pretty great. However, I was wondering if maybe you could add some kind of configuration to make it so that if it recognizes that the log is in fact part of a tree, it takes more axe swings to chop down? It takes someone with an iron axe all of 5 minutes to fell an entire forest, but making it take more swings to chop the trees down would avoid that without losing any of the awesome tree harvesting mechanics that are in this mod.

Posted Jul 17, 2012Yeah that worked, thanks man. Guess I should have payed more attention hehe. Also I noticed on my server the replant thing on the birch seems to plop down a regular oak sapling, but doesn't plant it. Not a big deal, but worked fine on local server, guessing it's some other mod interfering with it.
