QuickShop
QuickShop
The Predecessors
Showcase was abandoned. Chestshop needed a display, with signs whose order you could never remember. SCS has too many commands. I'm yet to find someone who uses essentials shops.
Don't get me wrong though, they're all awesome plugins each in a few ways.
QuickShop
So, I set out to write this. QuickShop. QuickShop is a shop plugin, that allows players to sell items from a chest with no commands. It allows players to purchase any number of items easily. In fact, this plugin doesn't even have any commands that a player would ever need!
Features
- Easy to use
- Togglable Display Item on top of chest
- NBT Data, Enchants, Tool Damage, Potion and Mob Egg support
- Unlimited chest support
- Blacklist support & bypass permissions
- Shops that buy items and sell items at the same time are possible (Using double chests)
- Herochat support
- Checks a player can open a chest before letting them create a shop!
No longer accepting feature requests

Try out this plugin http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/quickshop-towny-interop/ to stop players creating shops outside of Towny shop plots!
Calculating Economy Prices
Vagrant326 has created an Excel spreadsheet that allows you to calculate prices for a market, if you're looking to set one up! It takes a few minutes to setup the basic material prices, and once done, will tell you the appropriate value for almost any material! http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/how-to-create-stable-prices-system-on-your-server/
Hi, I'm an 19 year old University student studying Software Engineering. I spend my time writing code that I receive practically no reward for other than people asking questions I've answered a hundred times before. I know server Admin's and Owners aren't the richest of people - But if you're feeling particularly generous, I always appreciate any amount for the time and patience I put into coding Bukkit plugins.

I could add another one there.

as you can see the Display item works great, and it even has the name. Other plugins like Chestshop require you to put in the Id of the item which could be something like flint:3000, and because of this many people would not know what they were buying. and people could say it was one custom item but instead sell another (very annoying)
With Quickshop this is no longer a problem (had a few issues making shops in creative mode silly me :P) The only issue i found was that when restarting the server. the name listed on the sign will change back to the id of the (CUSTOM) item. but if someone uses the shop the name goes back to the proper name. (I know this plugin wasn't designed to work with custom items in mind, so i don't expect this to be an issue you would want to fix right away.) Honestly I just enjoy what this plugin does. Perfect for my server.
NOTE: The issue I mentioned Is NOT an issue for normal items, only Custom Items.

Unlimited still means someone 'owns' the shop. If you want it to show up as the owner is NPCShop, your best bet is to face the shop, do /qs setowner NPCShop, and ofcourse, make sure NPCShop is banned as a username.

I'm not actually sure what he is saying, but it works for me, 1.5.2 CB and current versions of this plugin, and gringotts.

Posted May 12, 2013With the unlimited function, is there any possible way to make it so the "Owner: <player>" would be "Owner: NPC Shop"? I wanted to make some default shops so that players could sell/buy to an unlimited source, correct me if i'm wrong, does the unlimited function already do this? It says when i made a shop that i could only buy an "xxx" amount of <item>.

Ah, I had this problem about when I started the plugin once, lol. Nothing can be really done about it. Silent chest opens the chest so that no event is thrown, but QuickShop has to wait for an even to be thrown. In short, no nice way around it. It would be possible, but any fix wouldn't be very elegant or easy

I figured out the conflict. OpenInv has a /silentchest feature that makes chests silent when you open them. Users that toggle that on can no longer make shops with QuickShop. Should I report this to the other dev or do you think you can/will be able to do something on your end?

You can only create shops on InventoryHolder blocks, see the config. I'm not adding extra support, but that means you can do dispensers, beacons, furnaces, trapped chests, brewing stands, droppers, hoppers, possibly others... You have to enable it in the config though, and I would not recommend making most of them shoppable.

Posted May 11, 2013Would it be hard to allow shops to be made on blocks other than chests? If not, that'd be a very, very wonderful feature..

Are you playing hot potato with maps or something? That'd do it (Shops are deleted if they cant be loaded properly most of the time)
Also, if you're doing /qs clean, that would be the reason.

1) It seems like it might be getting canceled. When you left click on the chest with the cobble, it swings his arm once and then stops, where it should be continuing to swing and eventually breaking the chest. I have a mess of plugins so I'm going to strip things down to see if I can find a conflict. Thanks.
3) Ok :p

1) I have uh, no idea otherwise then. Was the interact event being cancelled or something (No perms to use area?) Was he left clicking too, or right clicking?
3) Cool idea but I have no idea how to handle inventories.

1) He was in survival mode. We had him re-connect just in case. I'll try it again with him tonight.
2) Thanks for the fix. I'll download and test the new version.
3) I understand the way you're doing lore items makes this problematic, but it also means you can't really ever be sure of what you're buying. As it is now, someone could put a sign above their chest saying it's an awesome enchanted item inside, but if buyers can't actually inspect the contents or get a more accurate description, they're at a distinct disadvantage and could easily be ripped off or buy the wrong thing.
What if you could type 'inspect' instead of a price after clicking on the chest, and it would open a read-only inventory (chest gui) screen showing what's in the chest? I'm assuming you always purchase the top-left most item so it would clearly show you what you're going to buy and fix what seems like a loophole for the NBT stuff (which is all the rage now :)).

Are you using a forge server by any chance? This is really common on forge. There is an issue where display items stop working after while, I don't know why though.
