Quester

Quester is highly customizable plugin handling all kinds of quests. From simple "gather to get reward" quests, to complicated forked story-telling quests. What is even better, everything is customizable on-the-fly directly in game ! No more restarting/reloading your server every time to change something. Localizable messages, plenty of different, highly-customizable objectives, conditions, events and flags. NPC and sign support. All this together creates almost unlimited possibilities.
Found a bug? Have a suggestion? Sumbit a ticket.
Don't forget to specify Quester version you are using and label the ticket appropriately. Tickets without label will take longer to review or be ignored completely.
Latest DEV version should be working with recent minecraft versions. See dev builds.

Okay will do. Just a quick question.. when can we be expecting Heroes support? Like any estimated time? And would the "radius" feature I suggested be possible in the mean time? It seems like it would be fairly simple to add.

I still haven't got new storage system for 0.7.0 and some other important features, so that is my main goal right now. I've also been quite busy last week, so I haven't done much yet. It still needs some time. If you are really interested, progress can be seen on github. (branch 'commands')

Hey ragan, just a few things..
1) I'm having the same issue as everyone else with EpicBoss. None of the boss kill objectives are registering.
2) You said you were adding Heroes support, but may I make a suggestion that could be a temporary "fix" for people like me who are trying to have group-based dungeons? I'm sure it will take a bit to add full Heroes party support, but what about adding the feature where you can choose a radius and any players within that radius around the boss will get credit for the kill.
That way groups can dungeon together and all get credit for the boss.
3) Last request I have would be to add support for AncientRPG's party system. It's another leveling/class plugin that's very similar to Heroes and I know quite a few people are using it, including me, and it would be awesome to see support for quests where your entire party gets credit for doing an objective.
If you're busy with other features of the plugin, and trust me enough, I could hook into AncientRPG myself and then just give you the updated code. Up to you :)

I think it is already possible in 0.6.3 to use 'block' as special keyword for location. It gets the block you are looking at.
Edit: It can even be customized in config. Sorry for lacking documentation, but I decided to not bother with it until I release 0.7.0.

Posted Feb 9, 2013You can use the location command ``here`` to mark the block you're looking at when it comes to event block location. Wasn't this possible with the Objective action command also? It's a real pain in the * if you place a button on the wall and then have to like stand on the same block height as it is.
So please add this feature :D you could make it so that ``this`` means the block you stand on and ``here/there`` means the block you're looking at,

You told me that EpicBossRecoded option and killed the boss worked. But obviously not. When I kill my boss, it does not validate anything and I have put the name correctly (caps, etc ...).
View that the plugin has been recoded entirely I thought it was that.

Am i supposed to use some other version than these on either account?
/q objective add boss [bossname]
Wont complete when killing the boss with given name. Checked its case sensitive.
Even tried /q objective add boss ALL
and it wont complete either. :S

It's a bug. I uploaded 0.6.3.1, it should be fixed there. Problem was that deserialization required amount, but amount was only saved if it was > 1. It does not require amount anymore in 0.6.3.1.

Posted Feb 7, 2013Hello there. I've got a problem. I've been trying to set up this quest. However, it keeps giving me the errors:
"[Quester] Error occured when deserializing objective ID 1 in quest 'Gathering Quest'"
Same happens for objective ID 3. I thought I was giving it wrong numbers (I usualy write them manualy on the .yml) but last time I tried it via commands (adding/moving the objectives) and it worked once and then gave me the same problem on the next restart :S
Any ideas?

Because the plug-in changed radically in recent versions.
In addition I was wondering if you can create areas for goals: kill monsters, kill a player. So it should be in a specific area for validated.

The nature of my server and it's quests means that I am having serious issue not being able to clear a players completed quests. I see that you have "ability to modify profiles" and I suspect that this is exactly what I mean but I wish to confirm.
Pretty much several things are very broken on my server until I can clear completed quests.. /:

When you have problems with NPC you have to :
1. Enable PvP in Multiverse
2. You can disable PvP with World Guard if you want (ex. /region flag __global__ pvp deny)
3. Install the Citizens Add-on Sentry
4. Give the NPC the Quester and the Sentry Trait
5. The Npc will attack you, so make him invincible to all damage (message : NPC now INVINCIBLE) : /sentry invincible
6. The same with simple NPC command (message : NPC is no longer vulnerable) : /npc vulnerable
7. Assigne Holder, etc...
8. It works !
Please post this, into FAQ. It'll help a lot of players !

It may be because you are either OP or have quester.admin permission. It makes you bypass conditions.
