Quester

Quester is highly customizable plugin handling all kinds of quests. From simple "gather to get reward" quests, to complicated forked story-telling quests. What is even better, everything is customizable on-the-fly directly in game ! No more restarting/reloading your server every time to change something. Localizable messages, plenty of different, highly-customizable objectives, conditions, events and flags. NPC and sign support. All this together creates almost unlimited possibilities.

Don't forget to specify Quester version you are using and label the ticket appropriately. Tickets without label will take longer to review or be ignored completely.
Latest DEV version should be working with recent minecraft versions. See dev builds.

Posted Nov 13, 2012The book icon leads you to believe that you can have a "quest book", which leads me to this idea: There is a book that you can retrieve using a command, which has all of the quests neatly logged, with the current objective, quest parts completed, NPC affiliated, etc.

Posted Nov 13, 2012@ragan262 Maybe it will be bigger, but who knows when? I've been around bukkit for almost two years now and the citizens/denizens devs are being notoriously slow on releasing and updating their plugins.

Oh sorry, I forgot. Check commits, there may be something helpful. Action objective is described in this commit. It is objective where player needs to click something with something in his hand. It can be specified as anything and he does not even have to click, action can be specified to pressure plate push.
Documentation update is in progress, be patient please.

Posted Nov 12, 2012@ikGameDev:
First things first, don't post comments on the Quest page, use main page.
And yes, it is possible, but all NPCs must hold that quest. When you want to turn quest in, you just need to rightclick NPC that has that quest assigned.

Posted Nov 12, 2012I can't believe you implemented EpicBoss support. You are a life saver. I was going to have toset a bunch of location and kill settings for my boss mobs. Thank you so mmuch for this addition!

I noticed you commented here.
You realize that Citizens 2 is only optional, right ? This plugins provides ability to create quests even for people who don't want to use citizens. I understand that Denizen with his quester might (and probably will) become bigger than this, but I believe every quest plugin has something special to offer.

Posted Nov 12, 2012Ragan, thanks for the update.
@MCManCub
Two things: "When the auther releases..." says it all. On bukkit dev, there is a lot of "when he does this and that" that never really gets off the ground. And if it does, that doesn't mean it will have the same functionality as this quest plugin. I for one love the features and capabilities of this plugin and I hope it is kept alive.
I especially like the fact that I can have a team of questbuilders who can create the quest ingame instead of having give them access to my FTP.

I like the stuff auf does but I'm pretty sure he won't make it as good and advanced as this.
Anyway thanks a lot Ragan for the update :)

I noticed you updated this.
You realize that any questing plugin that uses Citizens will become obsolete when the author of Denizens releases his new Questing trait in a few weeks, right?

You are posting many comments, try to stick your ideas together.
There are quest conditions, try to read "Conditions" page. Conditions can make quest doable only once.
There is item objective. Player's goal in that objective is to get specified amount of item into his inventory and when "/q done" is written or NPC with proper holder assigned is rightclicked, items are removed and objective is completed. There is also option for collect objective, to remove collected items instantly. It's in config.
Hope it helps.

Sorry, currently it is only possible to specify one player or anyone. I can modify it to also accept permission group. Would that be enough ?
