Quester

Quester is highly customizable plugin handling all kinds of quests. From simple "gather to get reward" quests, to complicated forked story-telling quests. What is even better, everything is customizable on-the-fly directly in game ! No more restarting/reloading your server every time to change something. Localizable messages, plenty of different, highly-customizable objectives, conditions, events and flags. NPC and sign support. All this together creates almost unlimited possibilities.
Found a bug? Have a suggestion? Sumbit a ticket.
Don't forget to specify Quester version you are using and label the ticket appropriately. Tickets without label will take longer to review or be ignored completely.
Latest DEV version should be working with recent minecraft versions. See dev builds.

The silent objective would be great because I use objective triggered msg events for roleplay elements. Such as when a player reaches a certain point a message comes up and says, "You hear the crackling of bones in the distance."

It is possible, just read the documentation. Really, do it, as it will answer a some of your questions. And sorry, but do you really want me to find you another quest plugin ? Are you even aware of what you are asking ? You solved your old problem because you apparently don't think twice before asking.

It is done, but no version containing it wasreleased yet. Notice first red line on the page: Page is updated to match version 0.5.5.
0.5.5 is most recent version of quester. Newer versions can be found under "Dev builds" on the bottom of the main page.
I also updated "Dev changelog" page to show what to expect in next dev version. I will add some more objectives before I release it.

Posted Sep 29, 2012Wishlist: Party/Group Support. Nothing too terribly extravagant, but I'd like to see a group of people work together to complete objectives, specifically "mobkill" objective. But it would be cool if this can eventually support any objective.

Have you put NpcQuester.jar into citizens' types folder ? Are you working with citizens 1 or citizens 2 ?

No, %p does not work in descriptions, I will change that. About TODO list, Spawn Mob event is done, additional objectives will be next, along with objective prequesities. Multiple event occasions and datababe support will be done later.

Something else that may be nice to see is a radius type of condition, where a person has to stay within a certain vicinity for the quest to remain active. If they leave the specific area, then the quest cancels or toggles. This would keep people from kiting things, increasing the difficulty for various encounters.

NpcQuester.jar is not standalone plugin. It connects quester and Citizens 1. Since Citizens 2 are out already, I dropped its development and 0.5.5 is the last version of quester it works with. Read "How to install" page. Link can be found on the main page.
