Quester

Quester is highly customizable plugin handling all kinds of quests. From simple "gather to get reward" quests, to complicated forked story-telling quests. What is even better, everything is customizable on-the-fly directly in game ! No more restarting/reloading your server every time to change something. Localizable messages, plenty of different, highly-customizable objectives, conditions, events and flags. NPC and sign support. All this together creates almost unlimited possibilities.

Currently, only way to display description is to use /q info or /q show. You can make quest acceptable only once by adding questnot condition with its name. (it is also written in questnot condition description) If you use newest dev build, you can make quest available only at NPC by adding HIDDEN flag to it.

Posted Aug 26, 2012This plugin works great and is exactly what I need, however i have a few questions if you don't mind asking.
How do I make it so the quester says the quest description? How can I make a quest only acceptable once? How can I make it so a player has to return to the NPC to claim their reward?
Thank you!~

Just go to plugins*/citizens/types and remove quester.jar. It has to work.
* - it does not have to be named plugins

I can split quester.use.start permission to make this possible. Do you need such feature for npcs too ?

Posted Aug 21, 2012Can the plugin or quests be set to give quests randomly and to not allow them to be able to select the quest by name? If the quests are selectable then most players will just pick the best paying quest and never do the rest of them.
I've always liked it where the first quest is the tutorial quest and they never repeat it and then all other quests are given to them randomly.
I haven't seen a way to do that while making quests, but I might be missing something.

You are probably using Citizens Quester, which is incompatible due to a command conflicts. Try using /q, if that does not work, you are probably using Questioner, which is using /q too.
Quester uses 3 commands /q, /quest, /quester. If all these commands are used by other plugins on your server, you will have to change their plugin.yml to use other commands. Later, I may make command configurable.

Posted Aug 20, 2012hey i have a problem with the plugin!
Its only saying that the command is not recognized. see /quest help for a list of commands.
But even when i do /quest help its not doing anything for me. No error logs or anything!
Are there maybe plugins that are not comparable with quester?
Thanks

I can't reproduce this issue. I am using CB 1.3.1 R1.0, Citizens 1.2.1, NpcQuester 1.2, Quester 0.5.3a (link down in comments) and everything works for me. You should be more specific about your issue. Everything works with Citizens 2 as well. By the way, curent dev builds are actually older than released versions. I have no idea why they did not approve 0.5.3a yet, it's up more than a day.
edit: Gemil's right

Posted Aug 17, 2012The last version (v0.5.3) and the last dev build (v0.5.3 RC2) don't let us interact with quester. When we create a quester, all work but when i try to add a quest to the quester, it's look working (i have the message who says the quest is added to the NPC appears) but we can't can't interract with him (nothing appears by left-clicking) and it says "no quest selected" when we rightclicked.
Edit: The /q toggle don't fix the probleme.

You need to activate it. /q toggle toggles activity state of the selected quest.
