ProtectionStones
Anti-Griefing at it's Easiest!

Griefing Protection
ProtectionStones allows a player to place a special block, and this protects their area from griefing.
This small plugin was inspired by PreciousStones but only has the property protection blocks. This allows players to place one of three types of ore blocks to protect their property.
The player doesn't require any special permissions, they just need to get one of the three following ore blocks which you can give or sell in game using other plugins:
Coal Ore gives 11x11x11 protection area.
Lapis Ore gives 21x21x21 protection area.
Diamond Ore gives 41x41x41 protection area.
See the Configuration Page if you would like to change the block types, the dimensions or even set the Y-Axis to be from sky to bedrock, set group limiting, etc.
When the player places the block it creates a WorldGuard Region that gives the player ownership of that area and in turn grief protection. If the player breaks the ProtectionStone then they get the stone back and the region is removed from WorldGuard's Region List.
To install simply copy the ProtectionStones.jar file to your plugins folder, no configuration necessary. The following Ore Blocks are supported as the defaults: Coal Ore, Lapis Ore, Diamond Ore.
ProtectionStones Regions
ProtectionStones Creates WorldGuard Regions with the following naming convention:
ps{x-coordinate}x{y-coordinate}y{z-coordinate}z
i.e.
ps279x67y40z
The x, y, and z coordinates are the location of the placed ProtectionStone which is in the center of the WorldGuard Region it creates. If the Region.SKYBEDROCK Setting is set to "true" (see the Configuration Page) then Y-Axis of the ProtectionStone isn't necessarily the vertical center of the region.
Incompatible with PreciousStones
Both plugins act on the same kind of ore blocks and have the same command name of "/ps".
Requires WorldGuard
WorldGuard is used to create and remove regions when the blocks are placed, otherwise ProtectionStones won't do anything (set not to load if WorldGuard isn't found).

You have to allow for the number of worldguard areas users may already have. eg 5 ores will not let players have an additional 5 worldguard zones over what they currently have.

Posted Dec 17, 2012Hi, just setup the plugin and it looks great. I am using Autorank with PEX, and have groups setup and i love it.
Just had a couple questions.
1. When there is a limit on a group of say 5, is your plugin checking the workguard config file to see how many areas the user already has? I have some players that they are told already reached their limits, and they have many worldguard areas manually already.
2. Is there a way to change the default zone name, instead of the coordinates? If so, would it be able to support like a $playername variable?
3. Does the max # of blocks that you can use affect all worlds combined?

Yes, there is, by default the plugin has the "protectionstones.flags" permission set to true.
This is so people not using a permissions plugin can still use flags.
If you open the protectionstones.jar file in an archive program like 7zip, you can edit the plugin.yml.
Simply find the the "protectionstones.flags" permission in the plugin.yml and either change the default to false or op.
Here's what it looks like before you change it:
protectionstones.flags:
description: Allows Use of Flags Commands
default: true
Please see the Permissions Page for more information.

Posted Dec 11, 2012Is there a permission that prevents users from using flags? I set the flags globally and would not like them to be changed even in their own region.

Its a great plugin, provides a little more protection for the players that admin dont have to setup. I've changed the cfg so only emerald ore can be used. With the higher builder groups being able to place more emeralds to protect a bigger area. Donators get to place 15 ores, each having a 10x10 area on my server.

All the player has to do is stand in the region they own and type:
/ps add {playername}
This will add a player as a member of the region, which gives them full rights to build/destroy, but they can't change the region itself (they would need to be an owner).

Posted Dec 8, 2012Would it be possible for players to be able give build rights to others in their own protected area. I don't really want to manually edit the cfg for the players that work together.

Posted Dec 7, 2012mmh.. Looks interesting but there is one slight problem that is holding me back. My server runs a creative world, and people can just spawn in the blocks. If there would be a way possible to make another block that is called protectstone which has the texture of diamond, but is not possible to just spawn in creative mode. But looks good, if you make it as I told, I'll use it on my public server.

Posted Mar 13, 2015Try finding a block that is not in the creative menu. There are some blocks, such as primed TNT, which will not spawn in the creative menu, that you may be able to use. Not perfect, but it's the best you can do.

Yes those too become ProtectionStones, you can also block silk touch for the ores you use as ProtectionStones, please read the section about the "Region.NOSILKTOUCH" setting on the Configuration Page

Yes it is, and as soon as the finished 1.4.5 release is out (not beta or dev) then I will compile it for that build.

The admin is being blocked by WorldGuard and not PS, PS just creates the WorldGuard Region and WorldGuard does all the protection, so you must give them the WG Permission to modify blocks in other players regions.
The permission is: worldguard.region.bypass.<world>
or use: worldguard.region.bypass.* to allow them to modify regions for all worlds.
You could also give your admins the PS Permission to bypass owner checks and then they would be allowed to add their name to the region and then work inside that region.
The permission to ignore PS's Region Owner check for PS commands is: protectionstones.superowner
