ProtectionStones
Anti-Griefing at it's Easiest!

Griefing Protection
ProtectionStones allows a player to place a special block, and this protects their area from griefing.
This small plugin was inspired by PreciousStones but only has the property protection blocks. This allows players to place one of three types of ore blocks to protect their property.
The player doesn't require any special permissions, they just need to get one of the three following ore blocks which you can give or sell in game using other plugins:
Coal Ore gives 11x11x11 protection area.
Lapis Ore gives 21x21x21 protection area.
Diamond Ore gives 41x41x41 protection area.
See the Configuration Page if you would like to change the block types, the dimensions or even set the Y-Axis to be from sky to bedrock, set group limiting, etc.
When the player places the block it creates a WorldGuard Region that gives the player ownership of that area and in turn grief protection. If the player breaks the ProtectionStone then they get the stone back and the region is removed from WorldGuard's Region List.
To install simply copy the ProtectionStones.jar file to your plugins folder, no configuration necessary. The following Ore Blocks are supported as the defaults: Coal Ore, Lapis Ore, Diamond Ore.
ProtectionStones Regions
ProtectionStones Creates WorldGuard Regions with the following naming convention:
ps{x-coordinate}x{y-coordinate}y{z-coordinate}z
i.e.
ps279x67y40z
The x, y, and z coordinates are the location of the placed ProtectionStone which is in the center of the WorldGuard Region it creates. If the Region.SKYBEDROCK Setting is set to "true" (see the Configuration Page) then Y-Axis of the ProtectionStone isn't necessarily the vertical center of the region.
Incompatible with PreciousStones
Both plugins act on the same kind of ore blocks and have the same command name of "/ps".
Requires WorldGuard
WorldGuard is used to create and remove regions when the blocks are placed, otherwise ProtectionStones won't do anything (set not to load if WorldGuard isn't found).

Well then, there is nothing you can do since I use WorldGuard for all the protection, it's WorldGuard that is blocking them.
Sorry but I suggest a different plugin then.

Posted Oct 1, 2012the problem is Axel I don't want mods to be able to use worldguard that way so it's become a real dilemma trying to workout what perms from each plugin to give them so they can only REMOVE regions and override region flags (like no entry and no exit).

Yes you can either allow them to do that or you can block silk touch for the blocks, or you can change the blocks to other blocks.
Read the Configuration Page for more information.

Posted Sep 26, 2012Good day!
This sounds like an excellent plugin and I am very interested in putting it in place. However, from what I can see people could just use a silk touch to grab these blocks in the world and then setting them down will make it a protected region.
Am I correct? Or is there a way to restrict it so that an admin has to give these blocks out for use?
Thank you for your time and I apologize if I simply missed this in your documentation.

ProtectionStones uses WorldGuard's Protection, simply using WorldEdit to remove the stone bypasses Bukkits Event System, so ProtectionStones doesn't know the stone was removed, and so the WorldGuard Region is still there. You shouldn't removed them with WorldEdit, either use PS's Commands or WorldGuard's Region Command to removed PS's and Regions.
If you would like to remove the stone correctly you can have a player with protectionstones.superowner permission (or the owner of the PS) stand in the region and do: /ps reclaim or use /ps unhide to show the stone then break it.
You can also have a moderator or other player with WorldGuard Region Permission remove the PS Region like any other WG Region with /rg remove <region_name>. if you don't know the PS Region name simply stand in the region and do /rg info.

Our mods on Authenticity have protectionstones.superowner (which is for any ProtectionStones owner checks) and worldguard.region.* (which allows them to use region commands.)
And they are able to remove any flags, and alter regions at will, including removing ProtectionStones.

PS uses WorldGuard's Protection so your mods would need at least worldguard.region.*
So they can use the region commands, they may need more, you should read the information on WorldGuard's Page about all the WorldGuard Permissions.

Posted Sep 23, 2012Hello. I love this plugin, but i have a big problem. Whenever i or someone else protect an area, if an admin removes the protection stone with Worldedit the protection stays but there is no ore to remove. This has happened a few times in the map in people houses/ factions and they are complaining. Help!

Posted Sep 15, 2012I'm having the same issue as XeonG8. I gave Mods the SuperOwner permission node but unless I also give them worldguard.* they can't enter "no entry" regions or delete protection stones.

Posted Sep 11, 2012I just want to say thanks for making this. Although I do like Precious Stones I do find that is has lots of unneeded features and it can be hard for my users to understand at times. This plugins (from what i have seen) appears to be much better :)

I think your plugin needs an update buddy compile it against the new bukkit build at least
some small things I have noticed:
When using /ps view and the glass replaces a rotated LOG when the glass is removed the log rotation is not restored ( causing me hell cause I have a log wall on the edge of my protection. )
Still having issues with /ps hide and /ps unhide being usable by any player in any ps region. My permissions ARE correct.

Thank you. And I have read it. I even researched everything about your plugin but I couldn't figure it out.
I almost got it right but I guess I was doing something different with the command /ps flag greeting.
And I guess when I tried taking the flags off for good, I didn't see any results so I just shrugged it off as it didn't work.
Thank you for replying.

Okay folks I spend more time answering questions either already documented on this page or discussed in the comments, this stops additions to this plugin and my others.
To remove them from a current PS Region simply go to the region and use the PS Flag command like this:
/ps flag greeting
/ps flag farewell
To keep newly placed PS's from adding the greeting and farewell flags simply remove them from the config.yml under the flags section which looks something like this:
Flags:
- greeting Entering %player%'s protected area
- farewell Leaving %player%'s protected area
