ProtectionStones
Anti-Griefing at it's Easiest!

Griefing Protection
ProtectionStones allows a player to place a special block, and this protects their area from griefing.
This small plugin was inspired by PreciousStones but only has the property protection blocks. This allows players to place one of three types of ore blocks to protect their property.
The player doesn't require any special permissions, they just need to get one of the three following ore blocks which you can give or sell in game using other plugins:
Coal Ore gives 11x11x11 protection area.
Lapis Ore gives 21x21x21 protection area.
Diamond Ore gives 41x41x41 protection area.
See the Configuration Page if you would like to change the block types, the dimensions or even set the Y-Axis to be from sky to bedrock, set group limiting, etc.
When the player places the block it creates a WorldGuard Region that gives the player ownership of that area and in turn grief protection. If the player breaks the ProtectionStone then they get the stone back and the region is removed from WorldGuard's Region List.
To install simply copy the ProtectionStones.jar file to your plugins folder, no configuration necessary. The following Ore Blocks are supported as the defaults: Coal Ore, Lapis Ore, Diamond Ore.
ProtectionStones Regions
ProtectionStones Creates WorldGuard Regions with the following naming convention:
ps{x-coordinate}x{y-coordinate}y{z-coordinate}z
i.e.
ps279x67y40z
The x, y, and z coordinates are the location of the placed ProtectionStone which is in the center of the WorldGuard Region it creates. If the Region.SKYBEDROCK Setting is set to "true" (see the Configuration Page) then Y-Axis of the ProtectionStone isn't necessarily the vertical center of the region.
Incompatible with PreciousStones
Both plugins act on the same kind of ore blocks and have the same command name of "/ps".
Requires WorldGuard
WorldGuard is used to create and remove regions when the blocks are placed, otherwise ProtectionStones won't do anything (set not to load if WorldGuard isn't found).

I can't duplicate not being able to add players as you say, I've done it with upper and lower case, mixed case, and the exact case as the player's name and it worked for all name versions.
The reason I even convert to lower case was from a paste feature in PS.
You maybe having this problem for one of two reasons, either the permission to add/removed members is disabled for your players "protectionstones.members" or a change in WorldGuard isn't permitting the names to be added.
Also make sure the players are owner's of the region and standing in the region when they try to add members.
And like I said unless there was some change to WorldGuard, both the region names and players (owners and members) names are not case sensitive.

I believe I have found a bug in 1.8c. My players reported that they couldn't add players to their protections with /ps add [name]. I found the cause of this is that /ps add [name], only takes a lowercase username.

Posted Jun 11, 2012ProtectionStones 1.8c has been uploaded and is awaiting approval.
Install this update if you use the Auto Hide Option or you want to use the newest CraftBukkit 1.2.5 R4.0
Fixed Auto Hide Option:
Due to a timing issue, if you used the Auto Hide Option the block place event was being seen as a canceled event, which gave the player back the block they placed.
This has been corrected by forcibly removing the block from the player.
Compiled with Bukkit 1.2.5 R4.0

You can make up to 16 blocks and you can have player groups to allow only certain blocks per group, read the Configuration Page.

You must change the sizes in the config.yml file.
Look at the section called Blocks:
Blocks:
- COAL_ORE 5
- LAPIS_ORE 10
- DIAMOND_ORE 20
Those are the type of blocks to use and the size.
So change the size numbers there.
The size is the number of blocks measured from the outside of the area to the PS.
So if you place a PS that is size "5" it is in the center of an 11x11x11 cube.
Each direction from the PS will look like this:
54321x12345
The "x" equals the PS, the other numbers are the protected blocks on either side of the block, this is for all three dimensions (x, y, and z planes).
If you have sky bedrock enabled then the "y" plane is the full top to bottom height so it would be 255.
Is that clearer, if not I will make a diagram to show the placement (size).

Posted Jun 9, 2012Hey Axel Thanks so far with your help but i didn't really understand the answer. So a size of 5 would be an 11x11x11 or with the sky bedrock option 11x11x255.
How does one define what the other sizes are i just can't seem to understand this.
thanks again for your help

There are a couple of problems in your permissions for ProtectionStones, but they are unrelated to this problem
You can't use "protectionstones.*" (in your owner and moderator group).
Because this would also include the ProtectionStones Groups, and they would then be in group1.
If you give someone multiple groups it defaults to the lowest for security reasons.
Please post your config.yml for PS and also run the"/ps admin version" command and send that information.

You need to change the block size in the config.yml file.
See the Configuration Page.
The section called Blocks in the config.yml file has the the block type and size.
Size is measured from the PS to the outside edge of the cube (protection region).
So a size of 5 would be an 11x11x11 or with the sky bedrock option 11x11x255.

Posted Jun 8, 2012Hey, I think I found a bug: Whenever someone places an ore, a region is created, but the ore still remains in the inventory. This happens only with Region.AUTOHIDE: true

Hmm, I haven't disabled silk touch anywhere apart from on PS, fortune only stopped working after this was changed in the PS file.
Here is a link to my permissions file, a little messy at the moment. I also haven't added many of the groups yet but the idea was for group 1 to be for members, group 2 for donators/vips and group 3 for admins.

I tested it and I don't get that problem in the current version.
It sounds like you are using a version of ProtectionStones prior to 1.8b (which is the current version) and don't have the "protectionstones.toggle" set for you, it defaults to "op".
There was a bug in some of the old error checking that missed the permission error message and went straight to the message you are seeing.
So either change your permission for "protectionstones.toggle" to give you the right to use the toggle command or upgrade to the newest version of PS (which will give you the correct error message but still need that permission set to use it).

It sounds more like a bug in the error reporting then the toggle itself.
I will be able to check it in a few hours.
At this time if you get a chance, check that you have "protectionstones.toggle" permission set for you, it defaults to "op".
