ProtectionStones
Anti-Griefing at it's Easiest!

Griefing Protection
ProtectionStones allows a player to place a special block, and this protects their area from griefing.
This small plugin was inspired by PreciousStones but only has the property protection blocks. This allows players to place one of three types of ore blocks to protect their property.
The player doesn't require any special permissions, they just need to get one of the three following ore blocks which you can give or sell in game using other plugins:
Coal Ore gives 11x11x11 protection area.
Lapis Ore gives 21x21x21 protection area.
Diamond Ore gives 41x41x41 protection area.
See the Configuration Page if you would like to change the block types, the dimensions or even set the Y-Axis to be from sky to bedrock, set group limiting, etc.
When the player places the block it creates a WorldGuard Region that gives the player ownership of that area and in turn grief protection. If the player breaks the ProtectionStone then they get the stone back and the region is removed from WorldGuard's Region List.
To install simply copy the ProtectionStones.jar file to your plugins folder, no configuration necessary. The following Ore Blocks are supported as the defaults: Coal Ore, Lapis Ore, Diamond Ore.
ProtectionStones Regions
ProtectionStones Creates WorldGuard Regions with the following naming convention:
ps{x-coordinate}x{y-coordinate}y{z-coordinate}z
i.e.
ps279x67y40z
The x, y, and z coordinates are the location of the placed ProtectionStone which is in the center of the WorldGuard Region it creates. If the Region.SKYBEDROCK Setting is set to "true" (see the Configuration Page) then Y-Axis of the ProtectionStone isn't necessarily the vertical center of the region.
Incompatible with PreciousStones
Both plugins act on the same kind of ore blocks and have the same command name of "/ps".
Requires WorldGuard
WorldGuard is used to create and remove regions when the blocks are placed, otherwise ProtectionStones won't do anything (set not to load if WorldGuard isn't found).

I've been using it for the past year or so, but now regions are being wiped, often. It's becoming a big problem. WG 5.9

No, because I waited for you to say if it would work instead on rushing in to install the latest version of WG. To many players on the server to risk a problem with un-protected player areas.

I've had a lot of people ask to buy them and I didn't want to link to an economy in PS but planned a separate plugin like you're created, I have no time to do it, so good work!

WG 6 has major changes to the WG API and also requires UUID's, so I'm in the process of updating but it's a long process.
PS won't work with WG 6.

Posted Sep 18, 2014Considering WG 6.0 API update with no hint for support or not of this new major release : I have doubts about a sponge port. Think I will migrate to WG 6 and try with the other ps projects but it's a real mess since players are used to the plugin, I found it quite simple and therefore good for new members, and have thousands of claims. But I need MySQL
@mark you are right but nevertheless we have a big issue as server maintainer, and this is why we should keep using most active plugins even if not technically better just to avoid dead ends.

Yes, I'm considering any new server, and still working on my projects, I'll take a look at that server also.

Posted Sep 17, 2014AxelDios, I would hate to see this plugin come to an end. Is there any chance you could look at porting it over to the new Sponge project? From the look of Sponge they are doing their best to make the porting of Bukkit based plugins to Sponge as easy as possible for Bukkit plugin authors. sk89q (author of WorldGuard and WorldEdit) is the project leader on Sponge and the whole project seems to be moving along at a good pace, with the aim of creating a more stable platform.
I know I speak for a lot of us here when I say we really appreciate all the work and plugins you've contributed to the community and I would hate to see all the work you've done in the past now lost Bukkit is essentially dead.

Take a look at your logs, see if there are error messages when the blocks are placed, and please PM the message to me.

I disagree with both of you. If Axel doesnt update its his decision to make, and if he doesn't want to release the source that's also up to him. Making demands of something that has been provided for free is not the way to convince someone to do what you want.
Axel is under no obligation to continue development or give away his source. I'd like to see it continue and even better updated for sponge, but if not, something else is sure to come along eventually.

Posted Sep 11, 2014I agree with johandre : either you think you want to go on with the plugin then update to new version of WG, or please just say you suspend dev / support on it for many reasons and please give source access so we can fix our bugs even if you claim that we keep credits for all what you have done for protectionstones. Both position are fine and completely understandable but we have servers running to maintain. Dev links or external links are valid if you thing the bukkit community is ending.
