ProtectionStones
Anti-Griefing at it's Easiest!

Griefing Protection
ProtectionStones allows a player to place a special block, and this protects their area from griefing.
This small plugin was inspired by PreciousStones but only has the property protection blocks. This allows players to place one of three types of ore blocks to protect their property.
The player doesn't require any special permissions, they just need to get one of the three following ore blocks which you can give or sell in game using other plugins:
Coal Ore gives 11x11x11 protection area.
Lapis Ore gives 21x21x21 protection area.
Diamond Ore gives 41x41x41 protection area.
See the Configuration Page if you would like to change the block types, the dimensions or even set the Y-Axis to be from sky to bedrock, set group limiting, etc.
When the player places the block it creates a WorldGuard Region that gives the player ownership of that area and in turn grief protection. If the player breaks the ProtectionStone then they get the stone back and the region is removed from WorldGuard's Region List.
To install simply copy the ProtectionStones.jar file to your plugins folder, no configuration necessary. The following Ore Blocks are supported as the defaults: Coal Ore, Lapis Ore, Diamond Ore.
ProtectionStones Regions
ProtectionStones Creates WorldGuard Regions with the following naming convention:
ps{x-coordinate}x{y-coordinate}y{z-coordinate}z
i.e.
ps279x67y40z
The x, y, and z coordinates are the location of the placed ProtectionStone which is in the center of the WorldGuard Region it creates. If the Region.SKYBEDROCK Setting is set to "true" (see the Configuration Page) then Y-Axis of the ProtectionStone isn't necessarily the vertical center of the region.
Incompatible with PreciousStones
Both plugins act on the same kind of ore blocks and have the same command name of "/ps".
Requires WorldGuard
WorldGuard is used to create and remove regions when the blocks are placed, otherwise ProtectionStones won't do anything (set not to load if WorldGuard isn't found).

Posted Sep 8, 2013Hey man, I have a question on your plugin ProtectionStones. Is there a way to limit how many protection stones a default player can place? Like the group (Player) can only place 2 protection stones etc.

You can have a maximum of 16 different ProtectionStones.
Please read the section called "ProtectionStones (WorldGuard) Region Sizes" on the Configuration Page.

Other people have attempted that plan also, but with WorldGuard if you block building, then the whole map appears to PS as being blocked because it does a WG "can build" permission check, before it does anything else.
The only possibility of doing this would be a special PS setting to ignore the "can build" check and only check if you are in a players region, but that opens other problems. Like WG Region Priority Levels, etc.
So at this time, unless WG has added some new features there's no way that I know of to do what you would like to do.
I will look into it further and post something next week if I find any information.

Posted Sep 5, 2013Hi, I have a problem and no idea what i can do... I plan to protect the whole world so no one can destroy blocks and build. Only when they place a ProtectionStone they should be able to build in there area. So i would know if there is a possibility that a normal user can place a ProtectioStone on the world ( in my case this not work because the world is protectet) and after this the user can build in the area. Is there a way to do this (maybe in work with worldguard together) to make this get work? Or is this impossible?

Posted Sep 4, 2013ProtectionStones 1.9c has been uploaded, waiting for the Bukkit Team to okay it.
Minor (or is that miner :) ) update, pushed the Block Placement Event to the Highest Priority Level, with a cancel check to help with interactions with other plugins, tested against Towny so far and works correctly. If you try to place the PS in someone else's town then there is a delay in Minecraft to see your returned PS in your inventory, but it is there, and the placement is blocked by Towny.
The only draw back is placing a PS Region that over-laps a Town, this still isn't prevented, but the player would be blocked from building (etc.) there by Towny.
Compiled for Bukkit 1.6.2 (Dev Build)

You aren't giving me any information to go on, first of all post the information returned by "/ps admin version"
How are they being destroyed, owner breaking the PS, explosions, griefing, etc.
Did you modify the config.yml file, and does this work for any players like admins, it could be a configuration or permissions problem.
Could also be a WorldGuard Problem since the region are created and removed via the WG API.

Invisible PS's can be removed by standing in the region and using "/ps reclaim" which is listed on the Command Page:
To break a ProtectionStone when you are using the Region.AUTOHIDE Option: /ps reclaim
And how did the PS's go away, were players using /ps hide, which you can block if you read the Permissions Page.
Or were they using exploits to remove them?

There is a command is in WorldGuard:
/region delete <Region>
Example: /region delete ps279x67y40z
Hope this helps you.

Dear AxelDios, I've seen the command list, there is no way to remove a region your in without removing the protection block. There's no actual command to do that.
As you know, the other plugin whitch is like yours with /ps,they got /ps delete, That is what I meant to say. I got invisible protected areas whitch I can't remove, it's a bug! If you mark a place with world guard and some one try's to place a protection block, the block will get invisible and the area will shown as it's owned by him! I suggest you to watch this bug. Also, please make a /ps delete for better/easy'est way to remove a protected area. Thank you very much and great plugin you got over here! :)

The only thing you can do is use other material types for the PS's, the way the plugin works at this time won't allow the XP to also be received.

Sounds like either a permissions or WorldGuard Problem, check to see that the regions are even being created in the first place.
An option like you are asking for would require a separate database to track the regions and I won't be creating one for that, PS uses WorldGuard's Region Database to track all the ProtectionStones.

There are several ways, if you read the Permissions Page, you can even set a player with the superowner permission which allows for more control over regions owned by others.
Take a look at the Commands Page on information on finding player's regions (list of region names), then you can remove them either in mass or use WorldGuard's /region (/rg) command to remove or change the individual regions, or go to the region and use the PS Commands.

There was originally, but then Bukkit changed the way the configuration system works, and at this point I need to do a total rewrite to allow reloading, it is in the to do list for PS 2.0.
